Tigers v Saracens (H) - Sunday 19th February 2023 - KO 3-00pm

Post by TigerFeetSteve »

Thought as we have no games before I'd start a match theead for this.

With it being a bye week I'm guessing a few released.

My main guesses for us are Porter & Heyes released.

My team something like this

Atkinson
Ashton/Potter
Scott
Porter
Potter/Simmons
Pollard
Wolstenholme
Whitcombe
Montoya
Heyes
Wells
Martin
Liebenberg
Reffell
Wiese

Clare
West
Hurd
Green/Henderson
Cracknell
Edwards
Gopperth
Simmons/Cokanasiga

If Porter isn't released, then I probably would go Pollard at 12, Atkinson 10 with Ashton 15 and Potter & Simmons on the wings
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

As long as they play better than Saturday, I honestly don't care who plays or even if they switch the backs and forwards round!

If WW is in urgent need of a blind side wing forward (as they called them back in the good ol’ days), then I’m available for the bench! Any other old’uns out there fancy a game against Sarries 2nd XV? If yes, specify which position you play and we’ll surely get a team together on the day!

I'm a fullback most recently played prior to my 5yo son's birth.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Robespierre you’ve got competition for the 6 shirt, I can be described as a slow Tom Croft :smt043
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

This light-hearted buffoonery is exactly what we need at the present time.

I would happily fulfil any role offered, thought at 5’ 9” and 12 stone i suspect my options would be limited- Welford 2, perhaps? 👍😂

I played center, no8 and 6 for belgrave and Loughborough back in the day. Tried my hand at lock briefly too,but my partner was 6" 10 and I'm only 6ft!

You must be one of these hybrid players though !? Can play back row or can slot into the “row” if needed !?

I kind of picture Scott as a scrum half ?!

I’ll come on as a finisher with 5 minutes to go to secure a winning bp!

My days in the second row were ended by neck injury, but I'll happily run the water, oranges, kicking tee etc.

I have a sneaky feeling that now Porter's back in he'll stay in. I think he was only not initially selected due to injury. I wonder if another of the wing/centres will drop out later on.

Him staying in the squad is quite different to being released to play a game during a bye week.

Heyes last year often got released to play but stayed in the squad.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
