Plastic cups

Post by Lutontiger »

Have to ask if new system of thin plastic cups is cost- or environmentally-effective? After matches the terraces are strewn with cups we are meant to recycle, supposedly to benefit TigersFoundation. Recycling is way less than ideal as all bins are red and labelling on the recycling ones isn’t clear enough: also as bins are right next to each other, it’s too easy to mix them up. Is there evidence for this? Oh yes! The big Biffa bins and refuse bags outside the ground on days after matches are all full of mixed rubbish, including food etc, whether meant to be for recycling or not! The system isn’t working, the environment isn’t being helped, and it needs sorting - literally! 😡

It's 100% not working from a recycling point of view, but those crappy cups will be cheaper for the catering company (and therefore possibly for Tigers too), so who really cares as long as some people are making more money??

Isn't that what rugby's all about these days?
