Super interview. Will we miss him more than he will miss us? Difficult to say after watching that.
Thanks for everything, Freddie, and enjoy NZ.

Freddie Burns - Hero | Leicester Tigers Tribute

Post by StanWilks »

Hi, Tigers Fans!

In the wake of his announced move to the Highlanders, I felt a Leicester Tigers Tribute for Freddie Burns was only necessary. He's left an indelible mark at the club during his two stints which culminated in that glorious Premiership-winning drop goal last season: https://youtu.be/g7lVSkKDyc4

As always, I thought I'd share it with you in case any of you are interested. It was a very emotional tribute to create, and I can only hope that I captured a modicum of what he meant to your historic club.

Thanks for your time,

Stan.
Used to play rugby. Kind of a Poundland Cipriani? Yeah, I'll go with that.

Looks like we are getting the chance to say goodbye. Hope he leads the team out. Or gets subbed so we can cheer him off the pitch.

Hi all from the Falklands. I have to say that I have a lump in my throat writing this. Sir Freddie of Leicester is leaving. The man who gave us probably the most iconic moment of our collective years of supporting Tigers. Like a Phoenix, we rose from the ashes to return to glory, and wearing the crown that day in June was Sir Freddie. A man who played with passion and pride. Not the greatest on the day, but that day we were a sum of our parts. When called upon, he bore the burden on behalf of us all and took the shot, a shot that meant euphoria for many and not just those in the stadium. On behalf of every single Tigers supporter, wherever they are, we salute you Freddie. You will be welcomed back with open arms (and a beer), whenever you grace the turf in the future. Sadly I won't be there to say my goodbyes :smt039 , so please, on my behalf clap a little harder :smt038 and give it one extra cheer :smt034 .
