I'm a little baffled that Atkinson is not playing, and Gopperth is. That said, Gopperth has done a few good things recently, and he definitely has the experience for the later stages of the game, if needed.
I'm not keen on resting amyone agsinst Saints, but we definitely don't want him injured. Good point.

To be fair, Atkinson took a knock against Newcastle and seems to have battled through the last few weeks. I think he probably deserves a bit of rotation and rest whilst the wider squad still allows.

True, Whitcombe really is getting a lot better. But when he and Montoya come off..
West is a tidy player, and Clare has more than earned his place.

It's Hurd and Richardson that have a point to prove.
Hurd held his own against Ospreys at their place
He did but didn't get the same impact last weekend. I'm sure he's chomping at the bit to show what he can do when given the starting job. He's a young lad from Ashby so will probably have his family at the game. Wonderful chance for him to go and lay down a marker in a big game.

Re Charlie Atkinson, he's had a lot of strapping on his knee for the last few weeks and isn't the kind of players to not put his body on the line (love that commitment). He probably needs a bit of rest time to make sure he's good through to the end of the season.

Are you sure Austin isn't the TMO again this week?

What price Skosan catching and finishing every half chance that comes his way….law of sod and all that

I think it’s going to a be a tough day but the class of Montoya, Tommy, Berg, Wiese, Pollard, Watson et al will hopefully be enough.

Weak in the second row, Saints however even losing both their starting 2nd rows have 2 internationals to step in
That's our first choice locks, no weakness been displayed, when the two young internationals were in they were under pressure in the scrum v the Ospreys(which was hardly surprising given who they were).
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Most used lock selection has been Wells and Green with Snyman as back up. Chessum when available would be my choice over either of them but he frequently covers 6. Henderson now fit has performed well in the last couple of games and I believe Martin a good option at lock or 6 or 8. I don't think we are weak at lock but obviously our scrum will miss Cole but over all that is not a bad pack. Should be an interesting game.

I don't like to tempt fate, but those lineups make me think comfortable Tigers win.

Yes, a few inexperienced players in our XV, but with three world class players in Montoya, Wiese and Pollard there is plenty of quality.

Our back row should destroy theirs, and that's often where matches are won these days.

Saint penalty count and subsequent sin bins alone will see Tigers comfortably over the line.
