Tigers v Saints (H) - Saturday 28th January 2023 - KO 14:00

Post by TigerFeetSteve »

Right unlikely to be any releases from the international camp for this one.

So the question for me is who goes 12. I think they may go Scott/Potter midfield as Simmons has impressed and therefore means we don’t need Potter in the back 3 (without injury returnees)

Atkinson
Ashton
Potter
Scott
Simmons
Pollard
Wolstenholme
Whitcombe
Montoya
Hurd
Wells
Henderson
Liebenberg
Reffell
Cracknell

Clare
Van Wyk
Leatigaga
Green
Jansen
Edwards
Gopperth
Cokanasiga
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I did think he may be close, would be huge lift even to have him on the bench

I would have thought we'll look something like;

Whitcombe, Montoya, Hurd
Wells, Henderson
Liebenburg, Cracknell, Reffell
Woolstenholme, Pollard
Cokanasiga, Scott
Simmonds, Atkinson, Potter

Bench will be dependent on who's fit;

Clare
West
Richardson/Leatigaga
Manz/Green
Jansen/Weise/Martin
Edwards
Gopperth
Any back that's fit...

Also forgot that Burns was out warming up yesterday so he's probably getting close. May well see him bench or starting.

2 SH's that haven't played for sometime looks like trouble, the lack of a big Pacific winger isn't ideal....Nemani & Kini induced an attack of the vapours in Saints over recent games between us.

Be interesting to know how Cockansigna got on for Nottingham.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Looks good to me, but I think Pollard really needs game time at 10. Atkinson is a good 15 and IMHO better than Burns at 15. I'd like to see Cockansiga back at 12.

I’d go:

Atkinson
Potter
Scott
Cokanasiga
Simmons
Pollard
Wolstenholme
Cracknell
Reffell
Liebenberg
Henderson
Wells
Hurd
Montoya
Whitcombe

Clare
West
Leatigaga/Richardson
Green/Snyman
Jansen
Edwards
Burns/Gopperth
Ashton/Murimurivalu/Saumaki (whoever is fit! - if no one, either Burns and Gopperth or a 6-2 with Ilione on the bench also)

West imo is a must on the bench, as is Pollard getting more time at 10. Make the most of Henderson and Reffell being available to us and hopefully Wiese and/or Martin will be fit soon!

A pack of :

West, Montoya, Hurd
Wells, Martin
Liebenberg, Cracknell, Wiese

Green, Jansen

Looks a lot better than

West, Montoya, Hurd
Wells, Green
Liebenberg, Cracknell, Jansen

Snyman, Ilione

IMO

I don’t think Reffell and Cracknell work as a starting 7+8.

I think cracknell thrives as a 7 or impact player. Jansen does some trucking but doesn’t have the same impact cracknell brings from the bench.

Give me
1. West
2. Montoya
3. Hurd
4. Wells
5. Henderson
6. Liebenberg
7. Reffell
8. Jansen
9. Edwards
10. Pollard
11. Simmons
12. Cokanasiga
13. Scott
14. Potter
15. Atkinson

16. Clare
17. Whitcombe
18. Leatigaga (fingers crossed)
19. Green
20. Cracknell
21. Wolstenholme
22. Burns
23. Kini

Fully agree about the pair. Jansen to start ,Cracknell to come on
