Whatever way you go about I'm sorry but we are on to a loser! It's a fact that casual fans drive our game. There are countless fans who will go to a 6N game and not go to another game all season and I bet there's a huge amount who will probably not even watch another game let alone go to one! Not to mention the TV audience. The crossover just isn't there and never has been sadly.
I totally agree Scotty. The lobbying needs to start and increase until something is done and the Club game becomes the dominant competition as it is in so many other sports. Not just on line opinions but actual letters to the RFU and just maybe, some supportive opinion in the press.
It'll change nothing. The RFU's objective is to fill HQ with 80000 people 7 or 8 times per year. That will never change, be it people wanting domestic change or a "global calendar". Even when England are rubbish they still rake in the money. Why would the RFU change anything? As far as they are concerned their house - their product - is fine, thank you very much.
The sooner the domestic game realises this, and fits the Premiership around it, the better. Have some blue sky thinking for the AIs and 6Ns periods. It's not rocket science; it just needs strong leadership (oh dear).

I think he’ll play Tuilagi and have Daly on the bench and have more of a line out option at 6 (eg Chessum) but this is roughly what I would expect to see

I toyed with Manu starting, I think Steve will start Manu but I’d love to see Daly at 13, just adds a bit more pace to the backs.
Personally I’d pick Kelly/Daly in the midfield. Daly has been quality the last couple of seasons and is massively underrated for someone with so many test and Lion caps.
But I’ve no doubt desperate to start with a win we’ll see Manu/Slade.

Don’t get the obsession with Daly.
Doesn’t tackle which means he is a liability in the centres and many tests (mainly wing/FB) are enough to show he has had enough opportunity to tackle like a test player. Makes a Varndell look like Courtney Laws.
Like a prop who can’t scrum. There again we keep picking one of those too.
For all the flash stuff you need to do the fundamentals or you are a liability in a tight game.
