It's still a league game next weekend. It's not acceptable to just throw it away. We need the points and we need momentum. Back to back losses isn't good.

Whitcombe, Oghre, Heyes
Green, Henderson
Ilione, Liebenburg, Reffell
Youngs, Atkinson
Kelly, Scott
Saumaki, Steward, Potter

Clare, Leatigaga, Cole, Wells, Chessum, JVP, Gopperth, Cokanasiga

Only issue is I think Oghre's deal is up and he's supposedly going to play on France. That would be a blow as he's been really good since he came in.

Have a feeling we will rotate and go for it in Europe, just a hunch! And I hope we do!

Oghre is expected in Bordeaux on Sunday!

I feared as much. I'm sure Bordeaux will be equally happy with his efforts as we've been.

Taufete'e could be an option for Tigers instead.

Pollard at 10 for sure. Nothing wrong with him just short of match fitness. Maybe the forwards can give him a platform next week to work with.

Backs wise honest I would roll the dice and go
9. JVP
10. Pollard
11. Potter
12. Kelly
13. Scott
14. Steward
15. Atkinson

21. Youngs, 22. Gopperth, 23. Kini/Saumaki

With Oghre confirmed gone I'd have this team

With Atkinson there I quite like Youngs experience with him too

Has that been confirmed because it very much looked like something was wrong with him when he ran that try in?

Thanks.

Some good news at least. Whether we give him a week off to rest his knee or use him off the bench I'd prefer either option to him being a starter again given his lack of comfort.

Given the artificial surface at Falcons I'd say week off to build fitness and leave it to Atkinson and Gopperth at Fly half

Plus Newcastle’s plastic pitch… I’d still rather give Pollard the week and get Atkinson some more minutes and give Gopperth some time from the bench if needed.

Pollard looked good in bits and I think the rest is match sharpness - he looked to carry and get players into the ball, his chip in the first half that nearly payed off for Potter was a cute little kick and as Austin pointed out, he has a nice miss pass when going wide. His conversion I think was a mix of the wind, and being knackered after scoring his intercept playing ~10 minutes more than he perhaps expected (according to Wiggy) due to injuries elsewhere.

Give him some game time, in ‘normal’ (none-northerly wind conditions!) and I think he will turn out to be the signing many hoped for.
