Article says not necessarily given his past experience of juggling multiple jobs. Agree though post WC more likely.

Telegraph article, not behind a paywall (at least for me)

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Certainly from the Telegraph article it appears Cheika is favourite.
His ability to juggle two coaching roles at once suggests we may get him for preseason and then miss the World Cup with him, but have him after.
Pro's really good relationship with Montoya you'd think. (Possible club captain next year if Cheika comes)
Great CV look at it and it is impressive.
Cons: how much backroom staff would he want that start immediately in the summer?

So they're taking Harrison as well? Thanks RFU!TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:43 pm https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union ... r-england/

Quite possibly, be interested to see if Cole would be interested in a player coach scrum role next season?Postiger2 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:46 pmSo they're taking Harrison as well? Thanks RFU!TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:43 pm https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union ... r-england/

Let's face it Borthwick can do precisely what he wants. Frankly the way I feel it about this debacle is for us to get shot of all those associated with Borthwick. None of them have any reason to stay here they can all take the RFU shilling as they won't need to be press ganged.Tigers86asw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:30 pm Telegraph as Cheika and Cotter as leading candidates. Cheika more likely. Borthwick may also take Tom Harrison.

Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
Are we particularly worried about Harrison leaving? Our scrum is pretty average these days.
I've found the England pretty difficult to like over the last year or so, and this situation isn't making it any easier. Whether I'm angry or not depends on what was discussed behind closed doors and when - maybe this is pretty much the situation Tigers signed up for, maybe not. We'll probably never know.
If we can now bring in a strong head coach and continue from where SB left off then the whole Borthwick experience will have been a net gain. Up to the club to make sure we have every chance of continuing with the improvements over the last two years. It certainly sounds like they're talking to the right caliber of people.
In terms of the timing of the announcement, it could be for any number of reasons. Perhaps a journo found out and was going to put it out there anyway. Who knows with the RFU!

Matt, get off the forum !
Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
Steve and Aled were the losses for me, not particularly bothered about any of the others tbh. Perhaps with the exception of Deacs if he goes.Tiglon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:02 pm Are we particularly worried about Harrison leaving? Our scrum is pretty average these days.

Either the RFU have only just come for WW or our CEO lied to Radio Leicester.

Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
Perhaps Borthwick evaluated what he had once in post with England and then sent the RFU back to Leicester for some more negotiations. That or both coaches were out of contract in the summer and so could agree to move then and merely notify Tigers once signed. RFU wouldn't need to negotiate anything in that instance.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:33 pm Either the RFU have only just come for WW or our CEO lied to Radio Leicester.
