Seriously though, I get he puts himself front and centre, a bit like Mourinho - takes the focus away from the players. He has a fantastic pedigree, we assume others
Mentioned are ‘in the hat’ and really have no idea if they are, why wouldn’t he be in our thoughts??

Vern Cotter at the point he left Scotland was their most successful coach of the professional era, a fan petition was started to try and get the SRU to reverse their decision and keep him.Chobbsy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:57 amI don't see Vern Cotter's coaching pedigree as being that great, out of the three above he would be my less favouredFrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:48 am Key for me is the stylistic approach the new coach wants to take, and more importantly who else he brings in to help him deliver that, from a coaching panel point of view. We have seen close up, how Borthwick getting Walters and Sinfield helped our fitness, mental approach and defence, both structure and application. Borthwick had the lineout and maul functioning ruthlessly.
Whoever comes in needs to bring their own specialists to enable them to implement their own brand of rugby, not make do with whoever the board provide them. This would be even more important if it is Cheika, as he’ll be preoccupied initially and will need his assistants to be delivering his ethos.
I don’t know enough about who Cheika or Cotter have worked with previously/currently.
The names in the hat all have good rugby pedigree, Townsend, Cotter and Cheika have all done well at club level and then gone onto international teams. McFarland is the outlier, only one not to have coached internationally in his own right, but does have Ulster well drilled, was assistant for Scotland, and has coached Ireland A. I’d be happy with any of the above so long as the makeup of the assistant coaches is given equal importance.
As Crusaders forwards coach he was there for a couple of Super Rugby titles.
At Clermont he at one point had a 77 game undefeated home record and in the 07-08 season they won 20 of 26 games. Only one trophy but a lot of finals playing some good rugby.
With Montpellier it didn't work out (rarely does there for some reason) but he did get to another Top14 final though they lost to Castres.
He's maybe not got the most stellar resumé but it's a damn good one.

I thought we were talking about Vern, Warren has now started with Wales so too late for him.

Just the fact that Pinchen stated on RL that WW had been set zero targets and he would be in considered for the permanent position of HC . Now Tigers have said WW is off and Pinchen has stated publicly that somehow WW is committed to finishing this season successfully. What ever the heck that means? It simply does not add upto meTigersunited wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 1:13 pmInteresting, what makes you say that? I sincerely hope so its no coincidence that the likes of Sarries, Chiefs and Leinster have had the same HC for many seasons

It means you know literally nothing about what’s been going on at Tigers.sapajo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 3:16 pmJust the fact that Pinchen stated on RL that WW had been set zero targets and he would be in considered for the permanent position of HC . Two weeks ago you were confidently predicting that the club would screw the fans over by forcing Wiggy on us, on the cheap. That is quite clearly not the case.
Cotter, Cheika, Townsend, Lancaster, McFarland. All names linked to us by credible sources. All fantastic choices with decent CV’s & top quality coaches. If tigers land one of them, they’ve done well.
The conspiracy theory that Tigers will do all it can to appoint Wiggy has now proven to be false. You should have some decency to apologise.
Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
Things seem to be changing daily, so peoples opions change as well. Last night I said I though Middleton was coming, Today I think it's Chieka....
I don't believe anyone need to apologies, it's a pretty emotive time for Tigers fans.

Anyone leaving a job and having integrity will continue to put in the effort to be successful. Wigglesworth will continue to prepare and select the teams with the aim for success. Just because he has been announced as leaving does not mean that he will not be giving 100% effort until he leaves.

Cotter (of the realistic ones) seems to me the only viable one of the quality needed. TBH I am losing hope.

I have zero issues with people not wanting Wiggy or preferring another candidate. I for one have been one of them.
Sapajo & others have pushed a borderline conspiracy theory that the club would deliberately choose the cheapest option because the “fan base is punch drunk on success”.
That is nonsense. It has now proven to be nonsense.

Just received a WhatsApp message from No 2 son stating that after a successful period at Leicester Tigers, Welford will be joining the England set up as official team mascot.
It is hoped that his enthusiasm in inspiring the Tigers crowd to cheer their team to victory will be carried forward into the international arena.

I'm just saying that Matt O'Connor is currently a free agent, avaliable now, and knows the club.AViewFromLe2 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 3:48 pmI have zero issues with people not wanting Wiggy or preferring another candidate. I for one have been one of them.
