He and Clermont were the nearly men for a long time weren't they. They did get the one title but made a lot of finals.
This is true. Could part of the responsibility for this fall on the players?

It's knock out rugby. The most consistently good team doesn't always win. Tigers went through a phase of dominating the league and losing the final. If you lose a couple of finals it plays on the mind as well.
