Agree to disagree he probably has the best all round game of the 3 of them IMO and their wingers fullback have been getting plenty of ball. His composure is down to him and his team not reaching required standards, as in their game v Irish, and this yellow card thing is becoming less likely. But his name is Farrell and he plays for Saracens so a lot of peoples view is already slanteday2oh wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 9:48 amyes I have seen Sarries play but attacking wise Farrell is not in the same league as smith or Ford plus his composure is suspect and is a yellow card waiting to happen. There’s n point having speedy wingers when the ball is just kicked away.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 9:25 amYou’ve obviously not seen Sarries play this season then

How about JVP, Atkinson, Watson, Kelly, Porter, Potter, Steward?
Re: Next England Head Coach (Pre World Cup)
All joking aside, if Kelly and Porter keep this up Borths is gonna have to seriously consider starting them both against Scotland outside Farrell and JVP.

I genuinely think this is part of the plan, they’ve started every game together that Kelly has been fit for, after Eddie was sacked!
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Agree with you Scott (surprise, surprise) Ford is best all round of the 3 and Farrell can only dream of some passes Ford makesScott1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:30 amFord has the best all round game out of the 3 of them at his best imoRugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:26 amAgree to disagree he probably has the best all round game of the 3 of them IMO and their wingers fullback have been getting plenty of ball. If you had a kick for the RWC though I think I would prefer Farrell to Ford.
Ford has to get on a pitch first to be considered.
I don't particularly mind Farrell playing 10 its 12 that causes no end of issues for England, but if England are going to play "Borthwick Ball" then Ford is the best option at 10, he is the best tactical kicker of the present options.

To win is not as important as playing with style!

Did you see them against LI last weekend though? Attack was dreary and Farrell awful. Even against 12 at one point they couldn't make a two man advantage count.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 9:25 amYou’ve obviously not seen Sarries play this season then

Yes they were poor but they are still 10 points ahead of the field. Be interesting to see how they bounce back this weekend against Exeter when they are likely to be without Itoje, McFarland and Earl.

London Irish are no mugs and certainly contained a good Saracens side….some praise must go to them!

Yes it's only one game but it's the most recent game. Farrell is very capable of playing more attacking rugby than he's given credit for but he very much still has limitations, more so than the average international flyhalf. Borthwick was at that game, I doubt very much it's the impression Farrell wanted to give him. Given the fitness of the other two contenders Farrell is in pole position but a couple more stinkers like that and Ford recovering and showing some form could see a swift change around.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 3:37 pmOh come on Sam you’re better than looking at one game, how bout them Tigers v Bath and Bristol.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 3:20 pmDid you see them against LI last weekend though? Either way, I predict we’ll be 2 from 2 going to Cardiff, players who we thought were on the verge will be rejuvenated and we’ll look organised defensively.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 4:21 pmYes it's only one game but it's the most recent game.
