Fabulous Aussie try! Les Bleus need to respond and get the crowd behind them.

This is proving to be a tough test for Les Bleus and with some grit they find themselves in front at the break.

I’m getting rather nervous now being one point behind with 8 minutes to play!

Good game that, stadium is bouncing as well. Some of those tries were outstanding. Length of the field from Australia and then some magic from Penaud. Encore.

Ouff! I’ll take the one-point win! However, there’s work to do before playing the Boks in Marseille next Saturday. They won despite Dupont and Ntamack not being at their usual high level. Fabien Galthié will be happy to win but there’ll be some harsh words said at the next training session.

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022 - Non England games
Unfortunately I can see both Reffell and Wiese being dropped from their starting line ups next week.
Wales back row was just too underpowered and if Tiperic stays captain he will move to 7.
Boks are too similar so I can see Smith starting for Wiese.

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022 - Non England games
France play the Springboks on Saturday evening at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille at 21h00 local time (20h00 in UK) and the Boks have announced their team:
15 – Willie le Roux
14 – Cheslin Kolbe
13 – Jesse Kriel
12 – Damian de Allende
11 – Kurt-Lee Arendse
10 – Damian Willemse
9 – Faf de Klerk
8 – Jasper Wiese
7 – Pieter-Steph du Toit
6 – Siya Kolisi (captain)
5 – Franco Mostert
4 – Eben Etzebeth
3 – Frans Malherbe
2 – Bongi Mbonambi
1 – Ox Nche
Replacements:
16 – Malcolm Marx
17 – Steven Kitshoff
18 – Vincent Koch
19 – Marvin Orie
20 – Kwagga Smith
21 – Cobus Reinach
22 – Manie Libbok – uncapped
23 – Makazole Mapimpi
Jasper Wiese keeps his place, Kolbe goes back to the wing, Willie le Roux is at fullback and de Klerk starts with Reinach on the bench. The World Cup winning front row is selected with the infamous "bomb squad" on the bench.
In my opinion, this is a stronger team than against Ireland and I wait with eager anticipation to see Fabien Galthié's selection for what could be an extremely tough Test. Remember that France are on a record 11-match unbeaten run that may well come to an end in Marseille. I just hope that Galthié picks a side not to try and compete with the enormous Bok pack, but a side that will spread the ball wide at every opportunity, but it's going to be one hell of a mountain to climb.

Agreed much better selection than the one in Dublin, starting with Le Roux and Faff will take a lot of pressure off Willemse.

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022 - Non England games
This is the probable French side. Centre, Jonathan Danty has just become a father and apparently he may miss the match.
15 . Ramos ; 14. Penaud, 13. Fickou, 12. Danty (ou Moefana), 11. Moefana (ou Lebel) ; 10. Ntamack, 9. Dupont (cap.), 7. Ollivon, 8. Alldritt, 6. Jelonch ; 5. Flament, 4. Woki ; 3. Atonio, 2. Marchand, 1. Baille
Remplaçants : 16. Mauvaka, 17. Priso, 18. Falatea, 19. Taofifenua, 20. Cretin ou Tanga, 21. Macalou, 22. Lucu, 23. Jalibert
I'm not convinced that Atonio, a giant that he is, is worthy of his place and may get found out by an extremely strong Boks' front row. In fact, the set scrum worries me! If the French can get quick ball from the set piece they should be all right, but if the Boks get a nudge then the French could find themselves in the sticky stuff.
