USA 9-10 Portugal. HT

Very nervy stuff, punctuated by Portugal neatly exploiting a yellow card to run in out wide.

Portugal hit the post with a dropgoal to take them to the WC! But they're playing advantage!

The scrum half slots the 3 points to tie the scores, and PORTUGAL qualify on points difference from the Repechage!

USA are out!

You keep banging that drum. What's his excuse for diving head first into the player's face?

He got off light with 6 down to 3 weeks considering he pleaded not guilty.

Being pushed in the backside after he had just got to his feet after tripping? Does it happen without the push? Not for me. I don't say to people they 'keep banging the "intentional" drum' do I?!

Nigel Owens says the PSDT incident was "definitely a red card" he doesn't define who the red is for, saying it's either him or the person who pushed him...

Though I'm not sure that RugbyPass saying it was our own Jasper Wiese who may have got the red card despite not even being in the 23...

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Any call to penalise the player who pushed him into the contact?

No,but perhaps there should've been. The actions of the other SA player in the ruck didn't look too clever either!

Not definitely. He says it's either a red for the headbutt or a red for the push. He didn't say which he thought it was just that it was a 100% red just had to decide which player is most at fault

Push for me then TFS if you have to give a red. But then again we see umpteen pushes by players around the ruck during a game. Most times on an opposing player who is hanging around a tad too long and sometimes by a SH on his own player. This one just happened to end up in an unfortunate accident.

Looks like I have to hold my hands up about Italy too! Was badly wrong about them not deserving a 6N place, they’ve proved me wrong and I hope they continue to do so in this SA game too!
