Mcfarlane is frightening quick for a big man. In some ways it’s a shame he was capped for Samoa as he would complement any tier 1 side.

Anyone else reminded of Tom Croft when watching McFarland?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Sarries are very good, any side with Mcfarlane Christie Earl Goode Tompkins will be.

Sale have 4 or 5 with England plus injuries, lost one late before kick off plus injury to Wiese.

Think I’m right in saying we we had 3 held up over the line, plus weren’t very good in patches.

Might sound like sacrilege but I think he is a better all round player than Croft. Just IMO

He’s definitely not as fast as Croft.

Has there ever been a back row forward as quick? Apparently the new Ozzie number 8 is the fastest in the Brumbies squad over 40m

Be close thing.
He could be once in a generation type player and won’t get burnt out by international rugby. Sarries will do well to hold onto him once the French clubs come calling.

McFarland is a good player don't get me wrong but Croft was elite. You know when a player is special when an international and Lions teams sacrifice balance just to try and get a certain player in the team. Don't see anyone doing that for McFarland yet but we will see I guess. Croft was punted for a world XV more than once, let's pump the breaks here a bit!
