Hincks, lost their home game to the Lions, so will no doubt be after the league leaders to try and spoil their pre Christmas game.
Lions sit top of the league having only lost one game so far this season, are on 61 points. Hinckley sit in third place having lost two games and drawn one on 46 points. The Students sit in eighth position having lost seven games and drawn two, on 36 points.
Thanks for the updates, tigerburnie! It's good to know how the local clubs are faring.

These clubs have contacts with the Tigers, no Tigers at Lions this year and I don't think Hincks have got any either, there's a few at the Students though. The likes of Whitcombe, Martin and Van Poortvleit all turned out for the Lions in their first taste of adult rugby.

He scored too, forgot he is a Tiger.

Sadly the Lions v Hinckley game is cancelled due to the safety of the ground, but the dinner is still on and the bar will be open.
Looks like the Loughboro' Students game is still on however.

It's good to hear about the Lions, Hinckley, Students etc...but we do have other good local teams as well, perhaps not playing quite so high up the leagues!

Market Harborough are having a good season and are currently 4th in East Midlands 2 with the likes of Kettering and Peterborough both below them.

Their away form in particular has been exceptional with 7 wins from as many games.
They also had an exceptional home win in the County Cup against Syston (who are at least one league higher), it was a great night under the new floodlights at Northampton Rd.

I've tactically avoided the L word so far in this post, but here goes.....Lutterworth are currently top of the league and there is a big game at their ground on Jan 14th against Market Harborough, in what I think is a double header league and Cup game! MH will be looking for revenge after probably their worst performance of the season in the home tie.

Bring it on, you can't beat a local derby!!

Glad to hear about Leicestershire teams, back when I played, there were around 40 clubs and I played in some great matches in the county.
