We didn't swap Gopperth for Moroni.

Moroni left .......Gopperth arrived.....bad business.

Moroni is a 13 for starters

Is that not a centre position?

Also Sarries are not Bristol (Especially Bristol missing their 2 best players)

True....so if you are going to beat them you need to pick your best combination. SB appears to be picking his fights.

I don't even think our centres are soft
12. Kelly, Cokanasiga
13. Porter, Scott
Isn't soft.

Gopperth and anyone? The centres have looked porous this year. I would suggest we are missing Moroni's organisational know how.

Didn’t see the game- what’s the extent of Pollard’s injury? Is it his knee?

The game away to Saracens played on their carpet was a foregone loss. We haven't won there for ages and there is a reason for it. I think that is why the coach picked the team he did. Dan was player of the match last week so why leave him out if not conceding the match before the start, and using it as a test for some new combinations?
I can see that the goal this season is the Heineken Cup and the Prem will be the training ground for it.
I believe a top four finish will be acceptable and the chance to win the knockout stage, the plan.
Pollard looked good when he came on but I sincerely hope he is not going to be played out of position. (Injuries permitting).
Overall, I am confident in SB's direction and believe he knows what' he's dong.

I think so. He was subbed for a hooker (Joe T) so this could definitely not be planned!

History of knee problems- that’s a really bad sign.

I think Porter may be injured, seen his car outside home quite a bit this week. He did come off v Saints.

Saracens where the better team across the park today, particularly the backs. Some days everything clicks for you. Every pass sticks, every bounce turns your way. and Sarries had that today. Macfarlane in particular was wonderful - almost single handedly destroyed our line out. That boys special. Ref was fair to both sides and I thought the TMO was very good (don’t say that often)

On the flip side, that’s still not our full squad, Cronin was excellent (Ellis, whose Ellis :-) Watson is clearly not match fit yet and the tackling on the side channels was abysmal. Haven't a clue why you’d play pollard, in fact any player, on that pitch coming back from Injury. My personal view is we are starting to see the impact of letting Moroni go. Our 13 channel was a gaping hole which Sarries exploited well..

And I will continue to say it. Those artificial pitches should be banned.

One of those days, fairly beaten, we move on

I completely agree. The "haha" was just because I didn't want to start that debate again!

Somebody's sig is something like "Rugby is a game played by 15 a side on grass." I couldn't agree more!

I completely agree. The "haha" was just because I didn't want to start that debate again!

Sonebody's sig is something like "Rugby is a gane played by 15 a side on grass." I couldn't agree more!
Yup.....as for statring the debate again I don't think it ever went away........There were also images of player's burn injuries picked up on this artificial tripe. Jack Nowell was one I think.

I've got permanent scaring on both elbows from keeping wicket on artificial tracks. Took a catch and skidded on my elbows to keep the ball up.

I thought we signed Gopperth cheaply, this left no money for Moroni and he was cold shouldered out.

I never could understand why we signed Gopperth. A really nice guy who was once superb; but why bring in a fading fading lily?

It's going to be a tougher season this time round. after losing three of our finest players.

The issue with this plastic pitches in my experience is they exaggerate any underlying issue. I know that’s sounds obvious for any sport but they jar your joints so much that it makes your bones rattle. They are terrible!

We did sign him for cheap but I suspect the recent resigning's we have announced this off season has played a pretty decent part in he being cold shouldered out.
