PRC Rd 2 v Wasps (H) -Tuesday 27th September 2022 - 7-00pm ko
I’d imagine a similar selection story to the game vs Sale.
Maybe an outside spot for Pollard and Watson (fitness depending - and probably a better shot than the plastic pitch at Sarries!)
Hegarty, Browning, Cusick, Woodward, Shelley, Walsh, Edwards, Jansen, Ilione, Manz J, Manz T, Chessum L, Hurd, Horton, Whitcombe
Vanes, Leatigaga, Richardson, Carmichael, Carnduff, Briers, Pollard/Meredith, Watson/Daniels/Loose

I think Jansen and Ilione picked up knocks v Sale so may not be fit.
Personally I’d like to see Whitcombe back in the Saturday squad.

I agree on Whitcombe as I think he will make a stronger double act for Cronin at loose head.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:01 pm I think Jansen and Ilione picked up knocks v Sale so may not be fit.

I think Ilione may be a small knock - but Jansen’s looked more serious from the bits I saw. Perhaps Koroiyadi or Owen at No.8 instead?
Tough as our back row stocks are a little thin on the ground.

Indeed they are. Hopefully a firing Jasper will be back with us soon.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:05 pmI agree on Whitcombe as I think he will make a stronger double act for Cronin at loose head.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:01 pm I think Jansen and Ilione picked up knocks v Sale so may not be fit.

Now that would be good to see! Can’t wait to see a scrum with Cole, Montoya and Cronin either!Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:08 pmIndeed they are. My team would be as follows (guessing a bit on the injuries to Browning, Illione & Jansen as to their availability)
Walsh
Shelley
Cusick
Woodward
Saumaki
Meredith
Edwards (c)
Richardson
Horton
Hurd
Manz T.
Chessum L.
Henderson
Manz J.
Poullet
Vanes
Whitcombe
Leatigaga
Carnduff
Koroiyadi
Briers
Loose
Rammage
I noticed after the possible injuries to Illione & Jansen that Poullet (who played for us 4 times in the PRC last season) didn't play for Notts at the weekend so I fully expect him to be standing in. Think they may try Henderson in the back row also who didn't play at the weekend.
If Browning is out the obvious thing is to bring Meridith in at 10, put Walsh to 15 and move Shelley to wing (the Mercury interview with his club down under said Shelley is probably a better winger than fullback right now)
Simmons comes in if fit. Also Vanes I hope is fit but that's a guess.
Reason for Richardson starting is twofold. One he impressed last week so I'd give him longer, plus if he can do 60 min or so it means Whitcombe can be ready for Saturday if required. Alternatively if we're desperate to save Whitcombe for the weekend. Put Hoyt into the squad, yes he played at the weekend but given that both Richardson and Leatigaga cover both sides there only a very small chance of him having to do a big shift.

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Re Simmons, I saw on his instagram he has been rehabbing (no mention of what but no appearance of a boot or anything). So may be a bit of time before we see him. Shame and gutting for Harry, as I think the PRC was his big chance to push into the first team at 9 whilst Youngs and JVP were away with England.

Poullet is injured and didn’t feature for Notts yesterday.

That will help the attendance...bonus for me though.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Looks a decent side.

A couple of noteworthy names for the opposition. O'dogwu still seems to be trying to break through at 13, 16 Corbin Thunder - a name to live up to, and Robin Hardwick. Any relation to a certain tigers reject?
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
