Let's hope Porter is on his way to Oval Park... the lack of a sensible option to play 6 is ludicrous.

Coles plays 6 a fair bit for Saints.

Porter back for the LI game would be a boost.

Back 3 looks good - rest of the team pretty meh. Why play Coles at 6 when you’ve Martin and Hill from the premiership.

He did say in a press conference that he wanted three specialist lineout jumpers in the team for the weekend so I guess the best way to do that is play three 2nd rows.

Porter will definitely be a travelling reserve for the England game unfortunately so no chance of seeing him.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

If not in the squad or a late replacement on Saturday, he may be drafted on to the bench for the Irish game on Sunday

Problem is we have to announce the team Friday lunchtime. The whole point of international teams retaining 25 not 23 is to ensure they have cover in case say Tuilagi injuries himself in the warm up on the day.

IF we got special permission to announce a team after the game proving he's not needed then maybe, even so it throws team run prep etc out the window.

Exactly this England doesn’t kick off till 5.30 so if he is travelling reserve Tigers won’t know less than 24 hours if he becomes available, then what do you say to the bloke he replaces on the Tigers bench. Only way realistically it could happen is that he doesn’t have a couple of beers after the England game and one of Tigers 23 goes lame.

It has happened in the past with other teams. I remember Wasps playing some players on the Sunday after they had not been involved with the England team on the Saturday

Rather simplistic to think a "travelling" reserve in this case could have come from a club without a league game this weekend....

In the days when international squads got together on a Thursday maybe but not when a player has been away all week.

Yes unless he’s been in the England wider training squad

I still would not bet on him not being involved on Sunday if he is not used on the bench on Saturday.
