I guess both FREDDIE BURNS and BRYCE HEGARTY are unavailable, but a surprise not to see JED WALSH on the bench

Has Kini played 10?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Nemani used to kick at goal for Fiji and I’m sure Youngs has in the game vs SA?

Either way if Gopperth goes down I’d expect maybe JVP to play 9, Youngs at 10 and a lot more box kicks…

Mix match team in my opinion. Not convinced by some positions and still undecided on bringing back the England players a game early, but with injuries I can understand why.

Even with some positional tweaks it shows the depth of the squad and I’m expecting a strong and aggressive match from the Tigers. A bit of a bosh and grab game if you will! Bring on returning to Welford road!!

I read this as a real statement of intent following the loss in week 1.
But I did a double take that Heyes is on 101 appearances - he's only 23 and I think of him as a newbie...guess I am showing my age...

Let’s not forget there is a PRC game in Sale Tuesday night so a team will have to be found for that

Falcons using Blamire as a 7 again. Is that a permanent switch or just no available 7s

Very true, likely where Walsh is...

I think they have 7's, it's more two of probably their best 4 players are hookers, they are better playing one out of position than not at all.

Think Newcastle and Blamire have both come out and said they see him for club and country at hooker. Just temporarily covering flanker.

Slightly odd team from Tigers. Granted we’ve got plenty of players returning and injuries. I’m sure it will be enough to get the job done. The bench is also stacked full of internationals.

Youngs is more than good enough to move to 10 if need be. Didn’t he kick the points when we played SA back in the day too?

Falcons have a decent side, but fancy Tigers too strong at home and our bench looks like a match winner in the last quarter.

Completely agree about the Falcons' team - it looks good. Tigers will have to play better than last week, and I think they will. Gopperth will have to, especially his game management.

CMK had some good games last year, so I hope we don't even notice him!

Yep. I think it's Dave Walder finding a way of getting both of his best players on the pitch for more time. After all, hookers are playing more and more like additional opensides all the time.

Let’s hope Cronin doesn’t get injured as it will be a long old season with Van Wyke at loose head.
