The head coach of Bordeaux/Bègles, Christophe Urios, has been sacked after a string of disappointing results (currently a lowly 11th in the Top14). He had also lost the respect of some leading players, like Cameron Woki who wanted to leave before the end of his contract and was signed by Racing. Promising back row forward, Alexandre Roumat (son of Olivier Roumat who won 62 caps in the 90s) left and joined Toulouse, and fly half, Matthieu Jalibert was also unsettled but that may now be history with the departure of Urios.
Former Toulouse and France hooker, Yannick Bru, who was also was forwards coach to the National side from 2012/2017, is apparently the favourite to be appointed.

And last month, Brive parted company with former Ireland and British Lion 2nd row, Jeremy Davidson.

I haven't posted anything about ProD2 for a while, the second division here in France.
Here's the table after 11 matches:

1 Oyonnax 40 (coached by former Bristol and Toulon wing forward, Joe El Abd, who's quietly impressing. Ex Tiger Luke Hamilton plays for them, although I believe he's been injured this season)
2 Grenoble 33
3 Vannes 31
4 Biarritz 31
5 Agen 30
6 Colomiers 27
7 Provence 26 (Peter Betham and Jonny McPhilips play for Provence
8 Rouen 26 (Valentino Mapapalangi plays for Rouen)
9 Aurillac 25
10 Mont de Marsan 20 (ex Saracen, Richard Barrington now plays for M de M)
11 Montauban 20 (ex Bath, Semesa Rokoduguni plays for Montauban)
12 Nevers 20
13 Angoulême 19
14 Carcassonne 18
15 Béziers 17
16 Massy 13

Robespierre they mentioned that 7 of the Georgian pack that beat the welsh played in France. It’s obviously helping their progression and the young Lyon fullback looks a world beater.

Davit Niniashvili is indeed a star of the Top14. Check out this link from Eurosport Rugbyrama (in French, of course!):

Hi Robes

Any idea why my friend cannot print off his tickets for January match, he tells me has bought them but cannot print them off. I recall my trip in March that I couldn't buy my tickets earlier than 2 weeks before the game, does that have a baring on why he cant print his yet?
Thanks

I assume you mean the match in Clermont?
If he's had confirmation of his booking, with a booking reference number, then I wouldn't worry, and wait until the end of December, and I'd then send an email asking when tickets will be available.

Top14 round 11 was played at the weekend. Here are the results:

Racing 46 Clermont 12 (the wheels seem to be falling off the Clermont bus with their trip to Tigers in less than 3 weeks - and I've got my terrace ticket :smt001 )
Lyon 21 Toulouse 14 (even with a side shorn of most of their test players, Toulouse will be disappointed not to have gone home with at least a bonus point).
La Rochelle 53 Castres 7
Montpellier 35 Bayonne 14 ( Champions Montpellier are back in the playoff places)
Pau 22 Brive 6 (Brive are now 5 points adrift at the bottom)
Perpignan 23 Bordeaux/Bègles 20 (Brad Shields and Tom Willis playing their first games for their new clubs)
S Français 12 Toulon 17

1 Toulouse 35
2 La Rochelle 31
3 Racing 31
4 Lyon 29
5 Montpellier 28
6 S Français 27
7 Toulon 26
8 Bayonne 25
9 Pau 24
10 Clermont 22
11 Bordeaux/Bègles 21
12 Castres 21
13 Perpignan 18
14 Brive 13

Round 12 is next weekend:
Clermont v Montpellier
Bayonne v Lyon
Toulouse v Perpignan
Bordeaux/Bègles v Brive
S Français v La Rochelle
Castres v Pau
Toulon v Racing

@Robespierre do you know how Jack Willis looked for Toulouse?
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

I watched the whole match and he impressed and scored a try before being replaced in the second half. Would like to see him at Welford Rd next season!

Brief highlights of the Toulouse game on YouTube. Willis wearing 7 for Toulouse, which is our 6, good support line for the try not much else other than that.

For those posters as old as me who remember Olivier Roumat the French lock, his son was playing 8 for Toulouse and is his father’s doppelgänger

Yes! 62 caps for France between 1989 and 1996!
His son, Alexandre, signed for Toulouse this season from Bordeaux/Bègles and is being watched by Fabien Galthié. A promising player!
