Thank you Tigerbeat for keeping this in its own topic. I think personally this honour for Tommy is long overdue. Well done and let’s hope you deal with that Boks No. 8 🤣

Let’s hope it doesn’t accelerate his departure. He might appear at the end of next season’s leaver list

Well, what will be will be. He deserves it, what 'it' may be.

Probably the best uncapped Tiger at the moment (Green?). Here's hoping for a long and successful international career for the lad.

Until he plays against England.

Baptism of fire, doesn't get any harder than this. Arguably the toughest fixture in world rugby. Good luck Tommy!

If he trails Lydiate round the park he will probably get some chances.

Kaino & McCaw....

Michael Jones & anyone....

But Sam & Dan were class together all held together by Faletau who is often overlooked.

Faletau was arguably the worlds second best 8 behind Read at the time imo. Pocock was one of my favourite ever players but was never an 8 and Australians BR suffered for trying to shoehorn him and Hooper into the team.

A very interesting piece from Wales-on-line about Tommy and the choices Wales has in the openside position and how the various strengths of each player match up.

Interesting read but more an article focussing on why it should be Jac Morgan at 7 and quoting him rather than Tommie. Playing at Ospreys and finishing 9th probably does not help. They quote turnover stats for Morgan but not Tommie and Tommie was turning over in games at a different level and wining games rather than just turnovers. Does suggest there will be pressure on Tommie to perform and hopefully he gets the support from Tigers to do that.
