Hassell-Collins signing, and 2 Staying
This looks like good news
Brown and Henderson are both playing well and Hassell-Collins was on my wish list

This is all covered in the Tigers transfer thread

I am also pleased at the signing of OHC but the jewel in that particular crown has to be Harry Arundel.
Now he would be a great signing.

Possibly an answer would be an Amalgamation with Ealing, this would give the Trailfinders owner the Premiership place he desires and the extra fans would possibly give him the confidence to invest in improving his ground and facilities.

A very good idea, and the sort of the out of the box thinking that is needed.johnthegriff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 12:06 pm Possibly an answer would be an Amalgamation with Ealing, this would give the Trailfinders owner the Premiership place he desires and the extra fans would possibly give him the confidence to invest in improving his ground and facilities.

I don't think it would be an amalgamation, rather a takeover as the key thing for Ealing and their owners is surely the promotion of the Trailfinders brand? The short term benefit could be access to the groundshare agreement at GCS, but i'm not sure that's in the Ealing owners' way of doing business.johnthegriff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 12:06 pm Possibly an answer would be an Amalgamation with Ealing, this would give the Trailfinders owner the Premiership place he desires and the extra fans would possibly give him the confidence to invest in improving his ground and facilities.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
With OHC finally confirmly, and the equally brilliant news that Henderson has signed a new deal, I think the squad for next year is really starting to take shape.
With both Bassett and OHC coming in, and the fact that Simmons seems to be above the likes of Kini and Saumaki, not to mention the recent highlights video of the latter popping up on YouTube, I think both of them, will be off. I think Ashton is most likely to sign a new deal, but I could equally see McKellar wanting to bring in someone he's chosen. I do think Gopperth will be off in the summer, although it does open up a bit of a gap in the squad, and it'll be interesting to see what McKellar makes of Cokanasiga.
In the forwards, given Hurd, Whitcombe, and Richardson have all signed new deals, I would expect that Leatigaga and Van Vyk will be freeing up some space in the squad. I would very much lkike us to hold on to Tom West as well, but the competition in the squad is going to fierce. Given Clare and Dolly will be joined by Theobald-Thomas in the summer, I think the stocks will be solid enough to allow Joe Taufete'e to leave too.
Therefore, assuming the leavers being Chris Ashton, Jimmy Gopperth, Sean Jansen, Nephi Leatigaga, Kini Murimurivalu, Hosea Saumaki, Eli Snyman, Anthony Watson, Tom West, Sam Wolstenholme and Francois van Wyk...
15. Freddie Steward
14. Ollie Hassel-Collins
13. Guy Porter
12. Dan Kelly
11. Harry Potter
10. Handre Pollard
9. Jack Van Poortvelt
1. James Cronin
2. Julian Montoya
3. Joe Heyes
4. Cam Henderson
5. Ollie Chessum
6. George Martin
7. Tommmy Reffell
8. Jasper Wiese
15. Jamie Shillcock
14. Josh Bassett
13. Matt Scott
12.
11. Harry Simmons
10. Charlie Atkinson
9. Ben Youngs
1. James Whitcombe
2. Nic Dolly
3. Dan Cole
4. Calum Green
5. Harry Wells
6. Hanro Liebenberg
7. Kyle Hatherell
8. Olly Cracknell
15. Mike Brown
14. Phil Cokanasiga
13. Jacob Cusick
12. Joseph Woodward
11.
10. George Daniels
9. Tom Whiteley
1. Dan Richardson
2. Charlie Clare
3. Will Hurd
4. Lewis Chessum
5. Tom Manz
6.
7. Emeka Ilione
8.
So on that basis, I would expect us to at the very least be signing, or re-signing, another back three player (depending on Shillcocks primary position going forward), a centre and then two back rows.
With the World Cup coming I imagine we'd definately lose Steward, Pollard, Montoya, Henderson, Martin, Reffell, Wiese, Cole and at least one of JvP and Youngs. Questions around Heyes, OHC and Porter being on the fringes, whilst fitness concerns would be around Kelly, Dolly and O. Chessum. This does highlight the lack of depth in the back row, and potentially center if Porter and Kelly both got called up.
I'm not expecting any more 1st XV signings like OHC, but potentially some resignings (like Ashton and possible West, Watson if we somehow manage to pull it off) but also considering the shape of the squad, we'll also see some new faces.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
My hope/expectation is West is retained, not sure any of the others mentioned will, depends on the makeup of Gopperth’s deal.
I anticipate McKellar bringing 2-3 players of his own in, albeit perhaps not top tier names, but maybe some development opportunities from the tier below Super Rugby, at back row and perhaps outside backs.

You didn't mention any academy players being promoted into the top flight. Surely Chesham junior will make his first team debut soon?
Ooops my mistake. He is there in your list!
