Reported by Charlie Morgan but not officially confirmed by Toulouse or anyone else as yet.Tigers86asw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 10:08 amThe Telegraphloretta wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 10:23 pmConfirmed where?Tigers86asw wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 7:16 pm Confirmed that Willis is going to Toulouse until at least end of season. Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
Still some very good players not picked up.
If Tigers weren't so stacked at lock then I rate Elliott Stooke and Justin Clegg highly. Clegg in particular I think is a bit of a rough diamond who could be very good indeed as a lineout lock.
If Porter is going to be around the England squads then Burger Odendaal could be worth a punt.
Noah Howard would be a really good understudy to Steward. Ali Crossdale could be a good target as well given we feel set for significant turnover in the back three come next season.
If JvP and Youngs are going to be England's no 1 and 2 then would Francois Hougaard be a ridiculous target? I don't imagine he'd be commanding a huge salary these days. A potential Moneyball pickup.

I agree on locks, with Stooke ABC. I hope he gets picked up with a decent contract.ABClub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:25 pm Still some very good players not picked up.

Justin Clegg has retired from rugby to focus on law studies.
Noah Heward has been picked up by Bristol, Ali Crossdale by Perpignan also.
Hougaard would be interesting as I’m not sure he’s played 9 much recently with wasps, more at wing - will be interesting to see where Harry Simmons plays when he returns to fitness as that might indicate whether Wiggy will move to full time coaching at the end of the season. If Harry is at 9, I think we’ll go into next year with Edwards, Simmons, JVP and Youngs. If he’s a wing/FB I think Wiggy will play one more year.
Our back 3 set up next season will be intriguing with most players rumoured to be out of contract. I wonder what it’ll look like!

If we are looking at any centres then Dylan Riley is certainly worth a review 23yr old & well worth checking out availability wise

On the same note of players we'd like to see at Tigers, Ignacio Mendy would be a great pickup if we do lose a few back 3 players this summer

Simmons back training so with him and Edwards backing up Wigglesworth I'm not sure we need a 9 too much. Simmons also covers the back 3 so a useful versatile player worth keeping IMO
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

One of the main reasons I think he's been kept around TBHTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 10:48 am Simmons back training so with him and Edwards backing up Wigglesworth I'm not sure we need a 9 too much. Simmons also covers the back 3 so a useful versatile player worth keeping IMO

Where has Clegg retiring come from? Hadn't seen that anywhere. A shame if so. As said above a very talented player IMO.

I don't think I've seen Sam Spink picked up by anyone yet.
He'd be a good option in the centre I think.
