If we are looking for a centre to add depth. I know he used to be a saint, but Burrell could be an astute pick up

Great work as always RB.

Is there merit in giving Bondi a mention in your OP? The bloke seems an all round good egg!

We've got options at centre and more coming through into the development squad. Don't think we need squad filler that won't play what with the reducing cap.

I think one of the effects of the reduced cap is that promising youngsters are going to be moved up a bit quicker if they are ready. From what I read the academy has some real talent in the centres.

Very much so. Cusick has already been in and around the senior squad. He's looked a handy all rounder so far and should bulk up naturally to add more physicality to his game.

Woodward made his debut briefly in the PRC, looks to be a pretty classy operator from academy level footage. George Loose a regular with England under 18s. Might be too early to see Woodward and Loose play anything above PRC level but they could fill in during those periods with the likes of Kini and Saumaki helping round out the experience level of the backline.

The article is very interesting but from his perspective, and very honest. It does suggest Eddie Jones has very little emotional intelligence for those he does not want to keep. Also I think the statement that club Boards want to make money misses the big problem. They are not making money but trying not to loose as much. Hence the reduced salary cap. Players seem to be expecting to play to a greater age so the slots available per age will reduce. The salary cap stats showed the relative salary by age and the older players who are not good injury risks will find it difficult but in the past may have retired already.

Does anyone know whether you still get an additional £50K for each 'home grown' player as used to be the case?

Agreed Why would we want an ex Saints and now ex Newcastle centre Burrell when we have had unfortunately to loose Moroni. :smt022

I’ll back the decision making up top.

So many people (myself included) have questioned so many things signings, Team selection, etc.

And 8 times out of 10 this new management has got them right.

Ashton signed when no one wanted him one of the worse teams in the league binned him off mid season now he’s a prem winner for us.
