Can’t be right surely historically successful rugby club keeping faith with a coach even through the tough times
Well Van Graan has turned Bath around from last season. Sincerely hope Mckellar shall do likewise for us
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

We're only in his second season, and he took them from bottom to 8th in his first.

Apologies so less clubs and big improvements from 1st to 2nd season and Bath were arguably in in a worse position
IMO it shows coaches need time

Exactly, and that's what Bath are giving him. Not easy to tie a good head coach down for that long though.

Anyway, regardless of your opinion on that I think 6 year deals for coaches are bad moves. Makes it very difficult to manage them.

There is College Football coach in America at University of Kentucky, a mid level team in the hardest division of College Football. For a long time he had either a 3 or 4 year deal, that automatically extended by 1 year when he won 7 games (from 12 regular season games) and 2 years when they won 10 games.

I like that in rugby terms. For instance McKellar has a three year deal (now 2). If we had a similar system it could be if we win 10 league games his contract automatically extends by 1 year, and if we make a European Semi or a Premiership Final it extends by 2. Add some real benefits/jeopardy to it.

That same coach has recently moved onto a "normal" contract, though interestingly it has an exit penalty, so if he leaves to a new team he has to pay $4.5m back to Kentucky, which reduces each year as he gets closer to its end date. That might also be something we should be including as a matter of course going forward!!

Smart move by Bath, not only is he a top rated coach, it seems that top players in the club want to resign for him, also Bath seem to be attracting the signings of very good players who want to play for him and the club, you can’t really blame them as Bath is a wonderful town and a lovely place to live.
It was rumoured a bit back that Van Graan was on South Africa’s shortlist as a future head coach, having signed him on a long term contract Bath would be in a great position for lots of compensation if South Africa came calling.

Slightly odd move from Exeter in signing Hunter Paisami, given they already have Hawkins and Slade? Might indicate that Devoto is off.

If Harry Williams is available on the (very) cheap, could be a decent 3rd choice TH?
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Rumours Devoto is indeed off, Hendrickson left mid season as well. The emergence of Wimbush has certainly helped things for them but having Paisami as well would give them some more experience and a different option in there.

I'd have thought Quins would have been very interested in him mind. Still no announced replacement for Big Andre.

Very true RB.

The Max Deegan rumour has apparently reoccurred for the last five summers. The IRFU have been trying to encourage him to make the move as Ulster need IQ talent in certain areas but Leinster squad players don't seem interested and it doesn't help Ireland having players with a couple of caps only playing in minor league games instead of important European games etc.

Saints have also recruited Makepeace Cubitt and Savala. They are looking good for options at 10
