Tommaso Allen leaving Quins. Gives them a fair bit of cap space for anothe fly half. This one not going to be lost to internationals (Smith may well be) I'd say Evans is somewhat similar to us having someone like Atkinson as our backup.

Whichever way you look at it what Quins are offering is probably more than the £30k that Cardiff were rumoured to have told 12 players is on £50-250k (Which I expect Evans to be one of) is what their new contract offer is.

Think I'd take that move too...
Take your points but Evans is way too good to be a bench player and like I said if Smith does get dropped from England like I think he will that's almost a whole season on the bench playing the off game here and there
Given the amount of game time Allen and Will Edwards (not a fly half, or at least he wasn't) have had at 10 for Quins in the past 18 months, I think he'll be fine!
I'd have to have a look at when Smith was away etc

In the last to seasons at Quins:

Smith: 16 Prem matches (15 starts), 8 Champions Cup (7 starts)
Allen: 29 Prem matches (20 starts - 1 at fullback), 4 Champions Cup (3 starts)
Edwards: 5 starts at flyhalf last season, but mostly off the bench.

So Allan was covering Smith being away then. That's my point. If Smith gets dropped by England there's no chance Evans plays as much as Allan has.

England will take 3 Fly halves to the world cup. I don't see anyone coming in as 3rd choice ahead of him
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

But Smith’s not been dropped and I can’t see him being dropped out of the wider squad any time soon.

I believe he will, but I did forget about the RWC and the need for 3 FH. Ford and Farrell will end up being our 2 FH in the end I reckon. Borths likes Ford and Elliot Ness is undroppable

Ben Morgan to retire end of season. One of my favourite ever players in an England shirt. He just grew when he put it on

Yeah he ended up bigger than a number of the props. The England chef must have been a bit too good.
