Jesus would be an ideal captain, agreed. Guy has a lot of influence.

Be useful running across the duckpond that is the rec too...
No, not that one!

Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...

I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?

Hanro.

For me Wells isn’t a guaranteed starter so not for me.

Cole too quiet but then again it is useful to have someone who remains calm at all times which would be a good quality. He plays the meathead for effect and is quite eloquent but as a tight head his view of the game is restricted. (Or to quote the West Indian cricket umpire “what can you see from there boy.”) springs to mind.

Montoya a good captain but away with the Pumas as an international.

Post by Tacticalbeard »

Morning guys =)

Hope everyone is excited for the new season, i know i cant wait!

So, as the title says, next club captain, not sure if im late to the party and has already been revealed, but must be getting close to being announced soon? who is your money on for next club captain??

Im a big fan of all of our players, but if i were SB making the choice, my vote would go to Hanro :smt035

I would expect the announcement to be upcoming along with any late squad additions.
Hanro has to be the bookies favourite. Cole has been pictured addressing the squad but that might just be down to his seniority within the squad.

Don’t know an official vice captain is required. There is enough experience and quality in the squad for one to be named on the day depending on the squad.
Just off the top of my head any of, Montoya, Cole, Wells, Reffell, Youngs, Jvp, Wigglesworth, Pollard, Gopperth, would all do a good job.

So Gopperth only gets near the team due to internationals and injuries. I'd just rather see development, and Gopperth is and old/experienced place filler who will be useful on the training pitch.

I feel the same way about Wigglesworth as well, nothing against him, I'd just rather see JVP unless injury/Ints....
Moroni? Thought he'd gone to Falcons or was that 'fake news'.

Not fake news, he's gone to Newcastle, but my post you quoted was written on May 12th when he was still here!
