Red card for Ulster 18 O'Toole, direct shoulder to head contact no mitigation, the second player was adjudged to have only hit Toulouse player in the head due to 18 knocking him sideways first

Which was ridiculous the second player actually swung his shoulder into his head with no wrap at all

Does make a mockery of the system, you're either 'by the letter of the law' (as some would say about Chessum) or you're not, in this case not - but a plausible (?) explanation for tentative mitigation given by the ref - not saying I agree.

This is what is wrong with the laws/officiating, we've seen several reds this weekend but it feels like just as many identical
incidents have been mitigated down to a yellow or nothing at all
