Pretty much the best hooker on the planet for me. Few better. Love a bit of Julian Montoya.
I'd narrowly rate Montoya the best I think. His form across 2021 was outstanding.

Mbonambi, Marx and LCD probably the next tier just behind. Then Codie Taylor and Julien Marchand - who's improved remarkably in the last 18 months or so - also thereabouts. I think Montoya consistently has the biggest impact of the lot though. Marx has a huge impact in the final 30 minutes playing that substitute role for the Boks but I still don't think it quite matches Montoya across a match.

Gianmarco Lucchesi isn't playing in a great Italy pack but could certainly get up there with the best hookers in a couple of years if he continues his current trajectory as well. For an inexperienced 21-year-old hooker he has been very good indeed at times.

There are a lot of really good hookers in international rugby at the minute basically and Montoya has a very good argument for being the best of the lot. A player I hope to see at Tigers for years to come.

Lonsdale moves to Dragons from Exeter would've been in a good chance to play more for them next season as well with Skinner and Hill gone, now also Max Clark from Bath

Shows how much pressure WRU have been putting to get these players into the regions.

Does make me worried about Reffell.

We’re running the “Import XV” on the podcast and have just done the front row and - surprise surprise - it was exactly this!

Unbelievable all-Argentine beef there.

Just googled him, he’s Welsh apparently lol. Would be a typical Borthwick signing I feel bit under the radar at 27 still time to develop and a big unit

Got to say after yesterday I'm more confident in Whitcombe being capable in a no. 1 shirt without Genge.

It was also noticeable how Sarries only started getting on top of our scrum after Leatigaga came on.

We definitely need some depth at Tighthead more than Loosehead IMO...
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Heavy hitter in the tackle and contact in general.
