Why do half the backline need a game off? This is a home game in the league and all those players in the back line that you've rested had a game off over the European games.
Given the lack of cohesion in attack other than the normal rotation at centre and 9 I'd hope to see as much of the back line be as consistent as possible.

I agree with this, I’d go as close as possible to the same team and see if we can get some of that play we produced in the last (beautiful) 4 mins into the rest of the game. Ford pulled them all over the place to create the space out wide and they had a extra man advantage!
Burns needs game time but id go with a couple of appearances from the bench to see where his head is at after that dire performance the week before. I’m sure he’ll shake it off and come back stronger after his injury though.
It would be nice for us to win a game a little more comfortably as I’m not sure my heart can take this every week!

Burns will have to either go to the Championship for a game or wait for the next set of European games to get another chance. On form Hegarty is the better option at 10 and 15.

Muri is a better 15 for me too

He was very rusty coming back from injury and rushing things. A game in the championship probably isn’t really going to get him up to Premiership speed. Connacht was a big game to start at fly half first game back for anyone.

I would give Burns some time from the bench.

He can get game time in Europe. League games are not for giving the current third choice game time to get up to speed. League is the priority this season, Europe is a bonus.
A Championship game for match fitness and to get his confidence up wouldn't be a bad thing. Burns is a bit of a confidence player, taking apart a Championship side might get him up to speed mentally.
Connacht was a tough game to come back in after a lay off but Burns still won't have been happy with how he played. Just to many poor decisions, Hegarty's keep it simple approach suited us far more. Freddie can offer an awful lot more but league game minutes should be earned.
Let's not forget how well he was playing prior to the injury.
One pretty awful first half shouldn't be a reason to demote him to the Championship like a youngster who had try at the top level but was found wanting. Given that he didn't get the game against Bristol it could be he wasn't fully fit anyway?

It's where we differ in view maybe. I don't see the Championship as a demotion, one game to go and knock the rust off ready to get a chance in the European games. It's a training and development opportunity more than it is a demotion.
I'd also add that one of the things I like about Borthwick is that it's a meritocracy, you perform you get more big game chances. Hegarty has performed he deserves to be understudy at the minute.
Seen Wiese has been cited for accumulation of yellows, normally results in a 1 game ban so Van Staden likely out plus if Liebenberg out, means either Martin or Chessum likely to start 8
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
It will be interesting to see who we have fully fit.
Hopefully Henderson might be back fit or Snyman is over his illness which has been troubling him recently. Otherwise I think our squad may be a bit streched. Outside of a loan from Nottingham our team may look a bit like this.
4. Wells
5. Green
6. O.Chessum
7. Reffell
8. Martin
19. Synman/Henderson/L.Chessum/Manz
20. Agbongbon/Ilione

No Wiese so maybe
4. Wells
5. Green

7. Reffell
8. Martin
Would make sense. Would have Snyman in the second row with Wells if he’s back fit. Henderson hopefully in the mix too. Just shows even more so how dumb that yellow for Wiese was. Could have cost us the game and has now left us pretty short in the back row with Brink off, Liebenberg potentially out and MVS out
