there is a reason Wayne Barnes can't ref the Leinster game, I doubt anyone would call him dishonest as a ref ...Old Hob wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:54 pm Originally, I was going to put: Assume an English team play a Welsh; the winner to play a French team and the winner of that to play an Irish one. In the mad world of conspiracies an Irish judge might impose a long sentence on a perpetrator from the first game to assist his team in the last. Nuts. Tin-foil hat stuff.

Re: 21/22 Injury/Suspension Thread
Isn’t that Wednesday’s announcement of Tuesday’s hearings, not those held yesterday?

Those were the hearings that took place Tuesday.DeadlyDunc wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 8:32 am https://www.epcrugby.com/2022/04/20/dis ... d-of-16-2/
How come Chessum isn’t listed?
We can expect an announcement around 3 today depending on how many hearings there were

Interesting that Leon Lloyd is now one of the panel on non-English cases.

Chessum - 3 week ban, can be reduced to 2 with a course

Unlike the Porter decision this states nothing about the midweek game counting. I assume this may be an oversightTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 12:19 pm Chessum - 3 week ban, can be reduced to 2 with a course

Yes, provided the midweek fixture counts as a week, which is stated to be the case for Porter, but not Chessum (I'm assuming due to the rarity of midweek games this is an oversight)Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 12:39 pmAs expected so back for Brizzle hopefullyTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 12:19 pm Chessum - 3 week ban, can be reduced to 2 with a course

From the EPCR site "Chessum is free to play on Monday, 9 May, however, if he applies for and completes a World Rugby Coaching Intervention, he will be free to play on Monday, 2 May. " So no mention of number of games, they are talking of weeks. On the assumption that Ollie completes the Coaching Intervention, he can play again from the 2 May, so will miss the Bristol game.

Might as well use numberwang for red cards from now on!

True but this was the wording on Porter's decisionWirralExile wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 12:49 pm From the EPCR site "Chessum is free to play on Monday, 9 May, however, if he applies for and completes a World Rugby Coaching Intervention, he will be free to play on Monday, 2 May. "As Leicester Tigers are scheduled to play a Premiership Rugby Cup semi-final on Tuesday, 26 April, Porter is free to play on Wednesday, 27 April. However, if he applies for and completes a World Rugby Coaching Intervention, he will be free to play on Monday, 25 April."
It very clearly states he will be eligible to play in under 3 weeks as he becomes eligible to play on the Friday. If it is only "weeks" then you can argue why does the ban end on Monday's after games have played. We will see but if he's not back for the Bristol game it seems inconsistent.
