Re: Autumn Nations Cup
so there is a possibility that Scotland could play an "away" match at murrayfield if results go the wrong way for them

...for the most part ; they do have live broadcast rights however terrestrial coverage is available through Channel 4 , with some live games , I believe.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
France should walk their group.
Would have thought England will be strong enough even though it's a tough series of games.
Any Eng v Fra game at the moment is going to be difficult to call.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
It will be interesting to see how France perform given that they will have to chop and change quite a few players.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Should be good litmus test for ENG after slightly disappointing ITA performance completing 6N. Chance to consider options for 8, 9, 12 and back 3. At 8 I would trying a faster lighter option than Billy V who hasn’t fully fired for a while for me so maybe another crack with Curry making (almost) a three flanker back row strategy. At 9, maybe start Robson with Ben on the bench. Ollie Lawrence is an obvious punt if we need power cover at 12 for injured (maybe/maybe not fully returning) Manu. Furbank yet to click, so I would pick Watson at 15 and checkout Thorley on the wing. Should ENG get through then FRA should be quite a tussle in the final.

Good catch .. think you are right .. Watson injured .. maybe Jones will try Furbank once more
Re: Autumn Nations Cup
He is planning playing 9 forwards, 8 in the pack and 1 on the wing.SimonP in Surrey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 4:40 pm Good catch .. think you are right .. Watson injured .. maybe Jones will try Furbank once more

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
He did say hybrid player could be at wing or at 10. Which I presume he meant as in defence they'd stand at 10 from set pieces, Farrell would wear 12 and manage the game. Play with sort of two wing/fullbacks. Dropping an extra flanker in to replace a winger but shore up the blindside defence could also work.LE18 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 7:33 pmHe is planning playing 9 forwards, 8 in the pack and 1 on the wing.SimonP in Surrey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 4:40 pm Good catch .. think you are right .. Bit of out the box thinking. Could make the game interesting.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Interesting also to observe Wales with Defence Coach Byron Hayward now departed . A real upturn in performance is needed to prevent further questions on the appointment of Wayne Pivac as Welsh Head Coach.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Surely Wales are due a kick-back bounce from the recent losses (maybe a passionate home battle with ENG) but then maybe the Warren Gatland / Shaun Edwards combo was even better then we thought. Wales have some great players so you really have to question how they are being coached and motivated under Pivac.
Re: Autumn Nations Cup
They should beat Georgia, if they don't there really are problems there, we won't be playing them at Principality thoughSimonP in Surrey wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:26 am Surely Wales are due a kick-back bounce from the recent losses (maybe a passionate home battle with ENG) but then maybe the Warren Gatland / Shaun Edwards combo was even better then we thought.
