He was good for us. Is he contracted elsewhere? We are looking at a shortage of locks aren’t we?

He was forever injured (is my recollection anyway) and was fairly consistently carded. Both may be harsh but the Guinness goggles may be blurring my memory.

He was signed in the period where we were desperate to up our physicality. He's big and powerful but I doubt he'd be able to keep up with the mobility we demand from our pack now. I think he played a fair bit in his last season with us but was mainly a sub for Bath.

If we were looking for cover during the world cup period convincing Dave Attwood to put off his retirement for a few months would be a better option. Not that I think we need cover as things stand.

For me Spencer and Mike Williams fall in the category of underachievers during their time at Tigers. Of course there could be multiple reasons for which aren’t all the players fault, and with Spencer that infamous red card against Wasps seemed to affect him.

Dom Barrow could fall into the same category though that was for different reasons

Dom Barrow was massively over rated especially by himself.

He falls into the waste of talent category for me.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Spencer and Williams both good players but injuries meant that they never got a run of games.

Louis Deacon is taking charge of the Red Roses until after the 2023 world cup, then moving back to forwards coach

He is. From BBC article:

"Currently defence coach for Japan's men's team, Mitchell will join England after the World Cup ends in October."
