Rolling Maul boys suggested a bit of this recently, Steve being paralysed by the stats, paid us over £1m and the way things are going will sack them all in a month.

The RFU will stick with Steve for a year at least. They've got Felix Jones joining the coaching staff after the world cup and he'll add some much needed international experience to the coaching staff.
I feel we're in 2015 territory at the minute where we've got a young set of coaches with a lot of potential some of which are in the job to soon. I suspect the RFU will be hoping to avoid cutting them loose having appointed them as there is very the much the current case of people pointing and laughing at how Ireland has taken advantage of the harsh lessons those 2015 coaches learned with England.
The RWC has to be a freebie. They recruited the team a year earlier than planned and mitigation has to be given for having to operate on such a mixed coaching ticket, with a scratch coaching team in the 6N, an almost formed team for the RWC, but the full coaching ticket not being together until before the 2024 6N.

They will but possibly not for another year. If the pull the trigger to early then there will be a lot of questions about the process the RFU put in place to source the successor to Eddie and how they handled that transition (not to mention the costs involved). Steve getting sacked really doesn't help the RFU in the same way as getting rid of Eddie might have done.

Bernard Laporte, who was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence for corruption in December 2022, has been appointed Director of Rugby by Montpellier President Mohed Altrad, who simultaneously was given an 18-month suspended sentence in the same affair of an allegedly crooked shirt sponsor deal for the French XV!
Altrad has called a club meeting for this afternoon, presumably to confirm the appointment of Laporte, and maybe the departure of Cockerill?
