Re: Formerly of this parish
Good points about his studies, the only analogue I can think of similar is Jamie Roberts who I think was studying at Cardiff while he was playing there.

Re: Formerly of this parish
In addition to his studies lets also remember he's already had a few injuries in his short career.
Last year he was only fit latter stages of the PRC and started two of those games. This season he's played and started all 4 of the PRC games, but I suspect his development and fitness are fully under scrutiny by Aled and he'll be involved as and when we think it's right.

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Luke Hamilton, after a three-month absence due to a shoulder injury, has resumed training with Oyonnax (current runaway leaders in ProD2).

I thought the French were far tighter re medical issues?
To win is not as important as playing with style!

This is pure speculation but I wonder if the insurance issues were around him starting to play again. Maybe having played a season in South Africa he can prove he is over his concussion issues.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 8:15 pmWe got our maths wrong is another option..TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 4:56 pmInjury or insurance...Robespierre wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 4:31 pm Marco van Staden may be moving to Bordeaux/Bègles. So the reason MVS left to go back to SA was very much Insurance led - it was not his first serious head injury and we could not get him covered, but he was able to in SA as they had a lower threshold. I think you're right, now he's played a full year for the Bulls i suspect he may be able to get a policy back in France again.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 8:25 pmThis is pure speculation but I wonder if the insurance issues were around him starting to play again. Agreed, as much as I love him as a player I don't want to see him as another Steve Thompson in years to cometigerburnie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:23 pmCan't help having this uneasy feeling he is playing russian roulette with his health.AViewFromLe2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:05 pmSo the reason MVS left to go back to SA was very much Insurance led - it was not his first serious head injury and we could not get him covered, but he was able to in SA as they had a lower threshold. From the amount of claret coming from his face at the weekend his head is still going in there. No scrum hat eitherAViewFromLe2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:34 pmTotally agree with both of your points.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:35 pmAgreed, as much as I love him as a player I don't want to see him as another Steve Thompson in years to cometigerburnie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:23 pm
