longlivethecrumbie wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 6:19 pm I love the fact that we've not played for months, got a new, very well respected head coach in, a new backs and defence coach, a load of new players etc and we've not set foot on the field yet since the break and on the basis of the side selected some are bemoaning the selection and putting us down for a 20 point defeat. Some things may have changed but the negative attitudes of many out there in social media and forum land are still in the same negative bubble!

New start, new era - can we all be a bit more positive, please?
Don't be daft, they're in full negative mode and every event outside rugby seems to make it worse for some! Hopefully by the time we are on the Terrace again they'll have calmed down and had reason to be positive. I think it will take a season, and am not expecting other than rotation and bedding in approaches off this dead rubber season.

When will refs penalise Chiefs for blocking!
Not only one player but they use two blockers!

When is Foley going to penalise the blocking runners - they are sending 2 into our defensive line every time and the are blocking not decoy

Taute at fault for both tries. Gave away a stupid penalty leading to their first try. Never seen a player so flat footed for their second try, should have been drifting over.

Happy so far.
Disappointing in some departments.

But you can see where we have been working on, these things will take time, and against pretty much the same exeter team that started the season it was never a easy restart.

Shame we're down, we've been good with the exception of Worth who has had a mare at fullback.

Some of the officiating has been laughable. Exeter constantly blocking and an obvious knock on from LCD missed completely.

Come now, can't have 11th beat 1st in the first round back, wouldn't be seemly.

(Slightly) Less facetiously, give it time, Exeter seem to be determined to become the next catch all villain so they'll stop being so untouchable soon enough...
No, not that one!

Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...

I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?

Exeter's dummy lines are definitely on the edge of legality, I thought it was a pretty decent first half, still lacking that killer edge that Exeter have shown but that takes time

Scoreline aside, really pleased with that half. We’re competitive, niggly and up for it. Hallmarks of Borthwick already showing up. All the pack looking good, especially Wells and Reffell. Good to see.
