Roberts is 33.

It's all well and good saying "develop the youngsters" but how much are they going to develop if they all get thrown in together with too little experience around them and get battered every week?

Surely people like Roberts would only help the young guys improve?

So same age as Nadolo and Cole, I take your point just concerned about how much of a journeyman he has become, but as a replacement for Eastmond till summer 2021 then maybe.

Sensible signing, will add depth to the back row.

Good signing for me, adds experience and depth to the backrow and shouldn't have cost a great deal

I was surprised he had to spend a season in the Championship, good openside, very combative. Perhaps an indicator that Taufua will be playing more at 8 this season with Wallace and Reffell rotating at 7.

Sensible is an excellent word for it, primarily 7 but played 6 when Robshaw played and at 29 still has some good years left.

I think that is an astute bit of business. Always rated Wallace, and don’t imagine he’s expensive.

Very good signing, as much as I rate Lewis and Reffell, we needed some premiership experience in the backrow. At a stage a few years ago he was one of the best 7s in the premiership.

Brink, Taufua and Liebenberg can’t be expected to start every game together.
