That confused me slightly, I’m assuming it means that “the hopeful announcement” hasn’t panned out (Alemanno) but others are signed?RagingBull wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:22 pm Murphy saying in regards to the hopeful announcement "that hope is fading fast" "we have got some guys signed but not ready next week hopefully next week"

Why are people so sure it's Alemanno?

I wasn't sure if he meant hope was fading that the signing was happening at all or if hope was fading it would be done this weekJP14 wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 3:07 pmThat confused me slightly, I’m assuming it means that “the hopeful announcement” hasn’t panned out (Alemanno) but others are signed?RagingBull wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:22 pm Murphy saying in regards to the hopeful announcement "that hope is fading fast" "we have got some guys signed but not ready next week hopefully next week"

My own naivety, lack of knowledge about the player in question - but is Alemanno 'so' good that the obsession around his possible signing is justified, or is it just obsession in the context of 'nothing happening other than Covid'. I mean he's not Itoje is he? Or is he?

This ranking web site isn't perfect, but it's useful enough to get a picture of a player's stature.
Alemanno vs. Lavanini

I would say that he is on a par with LavaniniTraveller wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 1:24 pmMy own naivety, lack of knowledge about the player in question - but is Alemanno 'so' good that the obsession around his possible signing is justified, or is it just obsession in the context of 'nothing happening other than Covid'. I'd back Wells alongside Lavanini and Green.
He is nearing his prime and a rather good coach is on his way.
Then there are some younger.

He's a very good lock. Little less aggression and physicality than Lavanini but he's a better lineout operator. He played in all the games for the Pumas at the world cup though from the bench as the preferred partnership was Petti and Lavanini. He has got 57 caps for Argentina which you don't get if you're an average front five player with their strength in depth up front.Traveller wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 1:24 pmMy own naivety, lack of knowledge about the player in question - but is Alemanno 'so' good that the obsession around his possible signing is justified, or is it just obsession in the context of 'nothing happening other than Covid'. Lavanini and Alemmano is a lock combination that works at a high level which is why I think a lot of people have hung onto this rumour.

The lad Henderson we have signed as a development lock looks to have the necessary physical and technical attributes to make it all the way.
Won’t have a better opportunity than working with Borthwick to progress, and as long as he then doesn’t disappear back up North after we’ve developed him I’ll be happy

According to today's Rugby Paper (24/5/20) Harry Potter from Melbourne Rebels is a done deal.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Well, hope so, our wingers bar Nadolo just arent anywhere near top 4 standard.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
Good news but I don’t think he’s played super rugby yet just Aussie A grade.
I think we will see Vieanu more as a winger this season, it’s easy to forget how effective he was there when Tait had the 15 shirt. With the signing of Henry, along with Steward and Worth there are options at 15
