More good news on top of Borthwick - Wayne Barnes will take charge of Leicester Tigers’ fixture away to Bath Rugby this Saturday (January 25, 3.00pm) as they return to action in the Gallagher Premiership.

That is great news! This certainly is the month that just keeps on giving! Home QF in the CC, guaranteed GP survival, Borthwick confirmed and finally we get Mr Barnes in charge of one of our fixtures this season! Shame it's not being televised but hey, I guess you can't have it all!happywomble wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 1:41 pm More good news on top of Borthwick - Wayne Barnes will take charge of Leicester Tigers’ fixture away to Bath Rugby this Saturday (January 25, 3.00pm) as they return to action in the Gallagher Premiership.

If only "CC" meant Champions Cup and "survival" meant playoffs...OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 1:47 pmThat is great news! This certainly is the month that just keeps on giving! Re: Bath vs. Tigers - Sat 25 Jan 15:00
Bath will have lost two of their hookers for this weekends match. Ross Batty banned for four weeks (Same as Skelton but I thought Batty's looked much less serious) and Tom Dunn called up to England training - interesting wiki entry for Mr Dunn, says he is the sexiest man in rugby and dating Beyoncé.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Dunn_(rugby_union)
They have also lost the following to England:
Tom Dunn (Bath Rugby uncapped)
Charlie Ewels (Bath Rugby, 12 caps)
Will Stuart (Bath Rugby, uncapped)
Sam Underhill (Bath Rugby, 15 caps)
Jonathan Joseph (Bath Rugby, 47 caps)
Anthony Watson (Bath Rugby, 42 caps)
We have lost:
Jonny May (Leicester Tigers, 52 caps)
Manu Tuilagi (Leicester Tigers, 40 caps)
Ellis Genge (Leicester Tigers, 14 caps)
George Ford (Leicester Tigers, 65 caps)
Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers, 95 caps)
I think we have come off slightly worse, as Ford really is class and harder to replace than any other.

I think another poster said that Faletau has a clause in his contract saying he can be released for Wales training so they be without him too.happywomble wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:02 pm Bath will have lost two of their hookers for this weekends match. From memory their injury rosta is quite full too

1.Bateman
2.Youngs
3.Cole
4.Lavanini
5.Spencer
6.Kalamafoni
7.Reffell
8.Taufau
9.White
10.Hardwick
11.Holmes
12.Eastmond

On paper the addition of Lavanini, Tuafua, Reid and Taute along with the emergence of Lewis and Reffell should give us a much stronger 6 Nations period side than we've been able to field for several years. Hopefully we see the results on the field.

Yes, they have lost a few to injury too and also Jamie Roberts has departed. Hopefully Holmes has not got the same clause in his contract that Faletau has!!

Very true. With Dunn and Stuart in England camp, plus Catt and Thomas injured Bath will likely be fielding:Mark62 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 7:26 pmColey not going with England hasn’t hurt eitherABClub wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:38 pm 1.Bateman

1.Obano
2.Batty or Walker
3.Judge or Nixon
It's a front row that Tigers should be able to target at the scrum given our depth there. I could even see Gigena starting to get after Judge or Nixon with Bateman coming on for impact as a ball carrier later in the game.

Re: Bath vs. Tigers - Sat 25 Jan 15:00
Batty is suspended so it'll be Walker starting presumably with Obano and Jutge either side. I'd back Cole to keep Obano in his pocket. Be two of the high profile scrum coaches in the Prem facing off in Stanko Vs Hatley as well.ABClub wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 8:01 pmVery true.
