I don't keep records etc but was the away win at Twickenham, the Horne match, the last time we beat Saints, in how many matches?
Last derby win was the Twickenham game last season, yes. We lost at Welford Road in the Prem last season and at Franklins Gardens in the PRC. Then lost at Welford Road in the PRC earlier this season.
If Saints are vulnerable, it's in the forwards, particularly the front 5. This match is our very first opportunity to put out a full strength side in the prem, apart from a couple of injuries. I would like to see us go there with a fully loaded pack. Genge, Youngs, Cole and Lavanini with either Spencer or Green is as good a front five as any other prem team can muster. Guy Thompson at 7 and a big un at 6, maybe Wells. Kalamafoni at 8. I'm assuming Taufua is not ready yet.
Bully them.
Use Manu.
Bench should reflect the same philosophy. For scrummaging power and aggression I would go with Leatigaga, Clare and Gigenga with Spencer or Green and maybe Coghlan. If Taufua were to be fit I would go with a 6/2 bench.

Good side, about what most were expecting, with the possible exception of Wells at 6, but he’s a big unit and mobile.
Looking to get the better of Saints in the tight, with some big ball carriers midfield.
Let’s go out and see that performance everyone knows is there somewhere

Wow that looks like a good side, hope we can beat them with that, got to watch out for their very pacey backs though!
Quite like the idea of Wells at 6, sometimes looks a bit underpowered in the engine room. He has great breakdown ability so playing in the backrow will be no problem for him. Glad we seem to be targeting them in the pack, some Saints mate said they really struggled against Bath in the scrum and tight.
Lewis deserves his spot on the bench, he’s got great potential. Obviously with all the injuries some players will need to step up.

Would’ve started Coghlan at 8 and move sione to 6
Ditto - Coghlan has impressed me so far and Sione is better at 6 than 8.
Also if we want big ball carriers then Coghlan offers far more than Wells or Green in that area too...
In the backs - no Thompstone in the 23 - guessing he is injured ?
I thought we had stopped picking people out of position, Lewis or Coughlan should be starting over Wells, nothing against Harry, but square pegs etc...

Roles of the 2nd row and blindside are becoming similar, Saracens do it successfully with Isekwe and Itoje, Exeter have used Dennis and Hill in similar roles.
