If Borthwick is watching this he might think there's far too much to do and reverse any good news there might have been....CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 3:35 pm If the club have any news on this subject today would be a very good time to announce it.

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Re: Borthwick
I certainly wouldn't come if I were him!
Re: Borthwick
So he coming? I would have thought he would want to be here for the European games. Or is it to be after the 6N?

Re: Borthwick
he's probably renegotiating how much control he has as we sit here
Re: Borthwick
If he’s reading this, can I implore him to insist on a coaching clearout, and bring in his own team.
Valhalla I am coming!

Sounds like we may get an update shortly.Telegraph Website wrote: An official review of the 2019 tournament will finish tomorrow or on Friday. At that point, Jones will establish a new-look back-room team. Defence coach John Mitchell, also with the Barbarians this week, is expected to remain as one of Jones’s chief lieutenants but scrum coach Neal Hatley has joined Bath.
Attack coach Scott Wisemantel has been linked with a role in Australia’s set-up, while reports have suggested that forwards coach Steve Borthwick is weighing up a move to Leicester.

Good stuff. Who's have thought ten years ago we'd all end up excited to have a grouchy Sarries lineout ruiner come and take Geordie's job.TTRITH wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 11:17 amSounds like we may get an update shortly.Telegraph Website wrote: An official review of the 2019 tournament will finish tomorrow or on Friday. Worse than a Sarrie and ex-Bath, but if he is only weighing up the opportunity recent performances might steer him awayCitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 11:35 amGood stuff. Let’s hope he fancies a “do a upper”...like a lot of my school reports read “has the potential but must try harder not to be bottom of the class”...
There is never any points for 2nd place...

UMMMMM,
Renegotiating, So a negotiation took place? What has changed to renegotiate?
A different role? - League standings? - Wage cap? Bringing in his own team(as iternated)?
UMMMM. more questions than apparent answers- So it is Panto Season at Tigers again

Re: Borthwick
I'd imagine we're an attractive proposition for a coach looking to make their name, given that we've (statistically) NEVER been worse, yet have the infrastructure, supporter base, reputation to do much, much, much more.
Re: Borthwick
Agreed. Everything to gain and he knows nearly half of our “First Fifteen” having been with England. He will know plenty about TV, Kalamafoni and Lavanini too from them being World Cup opponents.
Geordan can then just get on with PR stuff.
If Borthwick is coming I totally agree: he needs to be here pronto.
As for now I’m looking forward to cheering the team on at Welford Road v Pau.
Start the season now!

Re: Borthwick
As much as I didn't like him as a player (more for his on field personality than anything else) he's always struck me as a winner (which must have been hard being in the Bath sides he was in) but also a guy who likes a challenge and likes to challenge himself. We are, if nothing else, a huge challenge.
