Thanks, goodbye.
Let’s look forward to the future, and how dynamic new recruits can improve the club’s fortunes.

Re: Toomua gone
Tomua has gone so no matter what happens on Saturday, time for us all at Welford Road to cheer Matt Smith, our homegrown Tiger.
Chance too, to show the team that plays that we Tigers’ fans will remain supportively loud on match days.
Thanks Tomua, as at Newcastle, despite what some think, he gave his all. At the end of the match he came over and clapped then thanked us for making the long trip to support. Last season when we had the Six Nations Tomua was immense. He also did a lot of unseen work in the community but the Aussies need him so it’s not surprising he has gone early.
Maybe, in the long term, it shows the values ( old fashioned, maybe) that Tigers have a heart. No matter how awful the season has been, the club still looks after its players.

Thanks Matt Toomua. Great player, great bloke.
Never quite settled in Tigers unsettled side, but one of the most skilful players to ever grace a Tigers shirt.

Re: Toomua gone
I am gutted he has gone early but don't blame him or the club. If we, the club had put up barriers to him leaving, that could have a knock on effect with potential new signings. They may decide that the club isn't for them due to us putting a stop on it. We have always supported the international players, which could be why lots still want to play for us.
Very good tigers player and good luck to him and his family in the future.

Re: Toomua gone
Sadly Toomua was employed as part of a flawed tactic of two playmakers at 10 and 12 in a league where the defensive rush is king, which also has a tendency to often run the legs off the entire forward pack as the damn ball could end up anywhere at anytime.
The new way (well quite old now (Hipkiss/O. Smith) but it's just that not everyone has quite caught on) is to employ the second playmaker at 13, with ball out in front and in two hands and with pace and footwork for the show and go or the strength to carry and offload or kicking ability, see Exeter with Slade and Saracens with Lozowski.
Also note that Ackermann often plays 12T at 13 with Cipriani.
I don't expect that sacking the good coaches helped much either!

Re: Toomua gone
Great players lead from the front. Great players perform week in week out. Great players are natural leaders.
Great players make a difference when the chips are down.
I don't believe Toomua is in that category.
However if he has been selected into the Gold and green on his merits at Tigers then I have to ask What crisis in Australian rugby?
Movin on.............

On the flip side wellstiger imagine being a player playing with this shower week in week out, loss after loss, capitulation after capitulation, surrender after surrender,he hasn't suddenly become a bad player overnight, same as Genge, they are just struggling in a very poor team imo.
