LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

Today’s announcements on signings
Leicester Tigers have signed Argentina forward Tomas Lavanini, Samoa prop Nephi Leatigaga and former academy captain Charlie Clare for next season.
I have read about these signing for us on the BBC.
Is it me or does this follow the usual pattern; why do we need another hooker and two players who aren’t enforcers???
Hope to be proved wrong!

If these 2 are not enforcers , a 23 stone prop and a 19 stone 6 foot 7 inch lock I don’t know who are !

Lavanini has a quite a rep. If he's not an enforcer, I don't know who is!

What is an "enforcer"? Genuine question; the press and fans bandy it around with glee in modern rugby speak (just like the jackaller) but really, what is the definition?
Anyway, glad we've signed the guy with a reputation similar to a certain Martin Johnson and labelled in a Youtube video as "Rugby's Most Dangerous Player". Raw spite and agression? Yes please.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.....
Lavanini has both
Not sure about Leatigaga but i'd be willing to take an educated punt...
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

He must have something about him, otherwise he wouldn't have allegedly been signed a year earlier than arriving!WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:10 pm

Go to YouTube and put in Tomas Lavanini in. We'll be trying to pull him out the fights rather than pushing him in. Personally I'm very happy with him signing.Ian Cant wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 9:51 pm Leicester Tigers have signed Argentina forward Tomas Lavanini, Samoa prop Nephi Leatigaga and former academy captain Charlie Clare for next season.

Lavvanini is a top class line out operator. With a competent coach we may actually be competitive in that area of the game for the first time in years. The YouTube highlights are just that, highlights. There is a bit more to TL than punching and yellow cards.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Can anyone please explain our need to bring back Ex Tigers players that left our shores because they were not good enough and in particular Hookers?

Heaven forbid that they may have improved while they were away!

I can think of one ex-Tigers hooker now plying his trade in the southwest who would be welcome back

Thacker has improved, so have Lewington and Purdey. Its a question of have they improved enough to play in the premiership !longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 8:26 amHeaven forbid that they may have improved while the were away!
