Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
I’ve started a new thread because the old one was getting too long imo but anyway...
Wasps have signed a Georgian Prop from Stade Français, Zurabi Zhvania, for next season after spending 5 years at the Parisian club. Apparently highly rated and is the 1st Georgian prop to play in the Premiership and 5th Georgian rugby player overall.

Impressive strike-rate too for Georgia too, having scored 10 tries in 34 appearances since making his debut in 2013.

Jantjes and Mapoe futures not clear yet either. I'd have both, forget the third test,Elton is night and day in a club shirt and might have burnt his bridges now with SA so would be available all season. Trouble is he's too good and would probably be too expensive to be a back up 10. I'd take Mapoe too, very powerful and quick centre. Talk of Brink leaving too but we are now fully stocked in the back row.

We were very very close to signing Brink but he wanted to give SA a chance for another season or so.
Jantjes IMO only works in the right system, outside that system and he is a liability.
Mapoe would be great.

Andreis Coetzee to Gloc doing the rounds if they can free some cap.

would be an odd use of cap.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 6:05 pm Andreis Coetzee to Gloc doing the rounds if they can free some cap.
Fly Half: Cipriani, Williams, Burns
Wingers: Banners, Sharples, Thorley, Purdy
Full Back: Woodward, Marshall, Hudson
All at the very least very good prem players.

We should help Glos with cap by taking Slater back.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Sadly I don't think that's likely. Ackerman knows what he has in Slater. Rotates him to keep him fresh, he's a key leader and vice captain. For me he was one of the few proper Tigers we had left in the back before he left.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 6:28 pm We should help Glos with cap by taking Slater back.
Gloucester are getting linked with every Book who's considering leaving their club. Seems to be accurate only 50% of the time.

A rumour going around that Wasps are thinking of jacking it in at the Ricoh and going back down the smoke.
Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
We had a little speculation on FB about the issues Richardson is having with the undervalue of the Ricoh, court proceedings and the state of the accounts. The Haskell rumours about financial difficulties suggest mounting problems. Watch the money men cut and run if/when Brexit occurs - already registered in Malta, so ideal for legging it, liquidising assets and sequestering them.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 11:21 pm A rumour going around that Wasps are thinking of jacking it in at the Ricoh and going back down the smoke.

Coventry’s deserved promotion back into the championship won’t help their cause.

I had to laugh (sorry) but the Ospreys prop Dimitry Arhip ends up signing for Cardiff Blues after a 400k pa deal to Montpellier falls through. Ouch! But being honest he's nowhere near that quality of prop anyway.
Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Really? I quite rate him.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 5:15 pm I had to laugh (sorry) but the Ospreys prop Dimitry Arhip ends up signing for Cardiff Blues after a 400k pa deal to Montpellier falls through. Ouch! But being honest he's nowhere near that quality of prop anyway.
Edit: Perhaps not worth 400k no but still I think he was one of the best props in the Pro14.
