What's the general view on Dossers Lad and Taity re-signing with us? Good value for money or should we have cut them adrift and let some of the younger players come through?
I would definitely have kept Tait. He's still pretty good and is versatile. Smith I would have cut but can understand the reluctance to do so and the loyalty being shown. There is still this ongoing debate about whether the game is no longer like that. But given we let Slater and Thacker go maybe it is purely a rugby decision.
I would have kept both to set standards on and off the field. Both seem to accept that their roles are on that basis along with the important bit of covering a variety of positions to a good standard.
If the Academy lads want to break into the first XV they know they'll have to out work and out perform these two to get a spot in the back line which is no bad target to set
Good decision, doubt they are big wages, Dossers Lad probably pays to play.
Tait has tbh been one of the most consistent all season.
They both understand the game & club, for every "Superstar" you need a serf.
Either should be made Club Captain, then appoint a First XV Captain.
In the past it was the likes of the Deacon Brothers, Will Johnson & the like that have been the glue that held our success together, give me a loyal player who knows the club & their place than someone who looks upon it as a job.

I doubt I have ever read a more insulting or inappropriate comment about any player than the one you make about Matt Smith.
Let me ease your doubt, how well is Crane playing these days!

Wayne Richardson Fan Club!
I doubt I have ever read a more insulting or inappropriate comment about any player than the one you make about Matt Smith.
When he next plays, watch him throughout the whole match and retract your comment please.
I don't think you understand my point, he would pay to play for us...the man is Tigers through & through, his Dad was the same as well. (Kept Elastoplast in business)
Unlikely to have a pop at him as we share a name.
So MOC saying here that
Having strengthened Leicester’s forward pack for next season following the acquisition of back five specialists Will Spencer, Guy Thompson and Dave Denton, O’Connor revealed he is now close to filling other problem positions.
He said: “We’ve got a few things to do in the front row and out wide but we’re almost there now. We’ve done a lot of work on fixing some of our shortcomings and we’ll have a bigger, more experienced squad.” https://www.therugbypaper.co.uk/latest- ... t-oconnor/
Wonder how many more signings to come.
Maybe a couple of Props (Re-signing or new signings), a centre, a winger and a full back maybe?
Just beginning to feel MOC has a handle on this, perhaps experience of mistakes etc has broadened his outlook. However I do think the BoD have a failsafe with Bakewell, just in case.......I'll be really emboldened if MOC does take a full HC role and hires a couple more specialists.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.
If some of the players that have a lot of 'red' on their performance sheets to could well be a lot smaller? Oh to be a 'fly on the wall' come Mark's assessment time?

Didn't someone say a few weeks ago that we'd have a smaller squad next season?!
