Perhaps they should give some to the forwards. Might get them over the gainline!strawclearer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 7:36 pmOf the 150 metres, 94 were vaguely in the direction of the opposition's try-line with the balance heading towards ours! The 8 defenders beaten included Manu and Mike Williams (twice)! He was like a pheasant on speed!Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 6:43 pm Mays stats were incredible though,150 metres and 8 defendes beaten. And a try to boot.

There is absolutely zero chance of John Wells coming back to Tigers.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
On the unoffy, it seems pretty much that Wells has more beef than Richards.
Apparently, he wanted to leave following Richards’ sacking but the board made him work out his contract

Merely namesakes. Harry's Dad is called Chris, unless someone was posing as his Mum on the unoffy!

For those worried about Dom Barrow's rumoured move to Sale after a 'training ground bust-up', he tweeted the following at 10.25 Monday morning:
"Good to start the week with us getting back to winning ways @LeicesterTigers Can't wait to get back out there with the boys!!"

Yep, fingers crossed. In Cockers' day he'd have been the first name on the teamsheet for Sunday!

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
Right now I am going to forget about possible transfers/sackings etc out of the club and concentrate my thoughts about what I think needs to be done to improve the situation we are in based on the fact that realistically we are out of Europe. We have to finish in the top 6 or this season is a disaster and must be our top target and we need someone to come in and help us do this.
1. Can we find someone other than Ben Kay to help us with our line out? I know he is helping as a consultant and was a great line out operator but is he the best short term coach/consultant?
2. Can we improve our stats at the breakdown/contact area?
3. Can we improve our ability to convert red zone pressure into points?
Is there anyone who could do all or most of this? I don't know but names who may be available in the short term that could cover part of this who would interest me would be George Chuter, Neil Back and if possible Sam Vesty. Each one is involved in coaching and are specialists in each of the 3 areas. Can we get them - almost certainly not all 3 but mid season it would not be easy to get anyone. GC is coaching at Loughborough, NB I believe is unattached and of course SV is at Worcs. Just looking to get short term help so the season isn't a total disaster.

The lineout wasn’t bad on Saturday, it was just one unstraight throw by TPN, an mistimed throw by Thacker and the actual maul. It was evidential of Kay’s consultation because they tried a similar lineout move that the Emirates Lions mastered in SupeRugby, where the jumper throws it to the back of the lineout to create two driving mauls. Wasn’t quite executed on the mauling part but good work nonetheless. I’m actually surprised Ackermann hasn’t had Gloucester try it yet

I wouldn't be overly upset if Barrow left, he always looks fairly ineffective to me (yes he tries hard, but you need a bit more than that at the top level).
If he's our best lock, we will continue to struggle - he just isn't in the same class as a lot of others in the Premiership, let alone Europe.
