This seems to clearly indicate that we are signing a player/some players from either Wasps, Exeter or Sorries if from the prem, don't know who is out of contract at these clubs. Or Leinster, Munster, Ospreys or Scarlets if from the pro 12, no idea about any other playoffs going on round the world.

"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Could be the Top 14. Could be the Championship Play Offs. Could be the Challenge Cup. Could be the play offs for a Champions Cup place.tigerburnie wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/39875850

Spoiler alert: It's Jonah Holmes, Joe Ford and Saione Kalamafoni.

None have been confirmed yet, and all of them fit the description that Cohen gave.

Those have pretty much been confirmed unofficially by high ups in either club though.
COULD be others though.

Thanks Wormus I thought he was the younger brother but it seems he is older than George still he has his Dads DNA so he should be useful.

I think that Cohen statement is being massively over interpreted.
All of our "all but confirmed" signings are currently still in competition.
Kalafamoni for Gloucester, Holmes and J.Ford in the Championship play-offs.
I highly doubt we are making any signings from the Premiership or Top14 leaders.

Doubt that to, BUT Super Rugby is still going on and there is alot of uncertainty in the Aus and SA conferences.Seal wrote:I think that Cohen statement is being massively over interpreted.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
We definitely need another centre with Tuilagi's ongoing problems, and especially now Toomua will have to be backup 10 during international periods. We have been lucky, so to speak, that our two current 10's have gone under the international radar, so we've been able to field them all season round. With George Ford nailed on for international squads, we're going to be left short at times. Toomua no doubt can do the job, but it weakens our centres options, especially without Tuilagi to call on. It leaves us in the same position as this season. We have the option of Tait or Betham at outside centre to give us some pace, but we need another 12, someone to give us either added distribution, or else just some sheer horsepower to get us over the gainline.
As for prop, I still think we need another option. We'll have lost Ayerza, Balmain and Brugnara. Betts may well be seen as an option to step up, but that still leaves us two light. We lost Cilliers, Ayerza, Rizzo and Mulipola for vast chunks of last season, leaving us very light. Doesnt have to be a world class signing, just someone to come in and give us some stability when the bigger names aren't available. Maybe even a project signing.
Ayerza wasn't announced as retiring until after a lot of these current signings were semi confirmed, there don't appear to have been any additions since, so I'd assume his salary is still there to be allocated.
An inventive 10/12 or pure line busting 12, plus a big grizzly specimen of a prop, then I think we have all options covered.

Woodward really would have been the perfect signing, shame Gloucester nabbed him. Could have filled in at 10/15/13.
I hope we can get a centre (Hurrell maybe?) that's EPQ.

Just wonder, as a wild guess, if we could be interested in Hibbard, we may need cover at hooker and he has come on really well this back end for Gloucs?
