14 England players to become Lions

Post by ellis9 »

According to the BBC, about 14 Englishmen will become Lions.

Launchbury and Joseph to miss out and most likely so will Haskell, Ford and Robshaw.

If Ryan and AWJ go over Launchers there will be one less viewer in my household!

AWJ is certain to go for some reason.

Not often I agree with you, but I'm dreading this tour. When you know he will take Davies but not Joseph......the out-of-form North......Te'o.....it's WarrenBall again.

Once you pick your Coach, you have to accept he'll pick the squad which best suits his plans and the way he chooses to play in order to achieve success.

That said...if he picks AWJ and Davies over Launchbury and Joseph, there'll be a number of unhappy bunnies in the Strawclearer warren this Easter! :smt011

Come on guys. You can't have a go at the coach. Just look how successful he's been with Warrenball against the ABs in the past.

Oh yeah (winning team in right hand column):

25 June 2016 46 – 6 New Zealand
18 June 2016 36 – 22 New Zealand
11 June 2016 39 – 21 New Zealand
22 Nov 2014 16 – 34 New Zealand
24 Nov 2012 10 – 33 New Zealand
27 Nov 2010 25 – 37 New Zealand
26 June 2010 29 – 10 New Zealand
19 June 2010 42 – 9 New Zealand
7 Nov 2009 12 – 19 New Zealand
22 Nov 2008 9 – 29 Erm, you guessed it: New Zealand

I agree completely with the sentiment of current coaches. In the professional era I think they are far too biased towards the players they see week-in, week-out.

Sorry Ellis I take issue with you on that my sources say it will be 15 English players and Joseph will be travelling. Anyway we will find out for sure tomorrow.

Sorry Hot Charlie but we beat the all blacks in November 2012. I think from memory the final score in that game was England 38 New Zealand 21 and Manu had a storming game, probably his best ever for England.

There has been some media talk that Sam Warburton will be given the captaincy and I know there is a history between Warburton & Gatland at Wales, but I still believe either Rory Best or AWJ will be given the captaincy. I also believe that Ben Youngs will be in the touring squad as deputy to Connor Murray at Scrum Half and that Tight Head prop Dan Cole will also travel. There is also speculation that Ellis Genge will be named as a non travelling reserve.

I think you misunderstood the point, the list of results were Gatland's not England's.

Reads like a leak from an assistant coach trying to pressurise Gatland into including Joseph and Launchbury.

Sorry Noddy, if you re-read it, they are Warrenball's results, not England's.
