Er pardon me when Mauger was promoted to DOR the club described him as Head Coach and not DOR. I think like the film title we are "Lost in Translation" here. I could never imagine O'Connor accepting the job if he knew that someone else was going to be promoted over him. Matt is a very fiery character despite his outward Karma of Cool.

Correct, the statement from the club, was very explicit

"Matt's strengths are in his work with players on the training pitch and we are making changes to our organisational structure to enable him to focus solely on the success of the team."

Clearly a coaching only role not DOR.

drc_7 Never been within earshot of O'Connor when he was last at Tigers so I can't comment on your assertion. But perhaps that's what we need someone who will take the bull by the horns and let us have some home truths and not the usual boardroom waffle.

His quoted record in the press statement looks good and maybe as just a coach he will have success. I'm happy to wait and see.
