If True this is to be applauded but my contention is that this should have been done 2 years ago if not sooner, the adage locking the stable door after the horse has bolted springs to mind.

All that normally results from such things are flashy PowerPoints and a big bill. Not hopeful this will answer the fundamental issues the consultants will be long gone after the next coaching cycle.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

All I can say to that is it's a good job that Leicestershire has some brilliant riding schools and plenty of equine experts.
Re: Better news than Mermoz!
It depends what remit they have been given.
Let's hope it's not:
"Wanted DOR. Preferably ex-Tigers, recently retired with negligable coaching experience."

I've backed Cohen over his last couple of interviews he's done. I respect and admire the ambition in the logic of making the change mid-season, but this is an issue on which I disagree with him. To think that making the change mid-season would be a magic wand and improve us was naive in the extreme. Surely the board recognised the danger that it could have a negative affect on the season...?

Are you involved in recruitment at this level or just deriding consultants because they're expensive?
What "normally results" from such things is an array of candidates is put forward - and one chosen. Whilst it may seem due to the public nature of sport any such candidates would be obvious - initial contract, terms and any related movement of international work force has to be managed. At a cost of course - but I'm glad we are hiring professionals to review the situation rather than simply taking a best guess and who's available in an inevitably subjective manner.

I doubt that Cockers would've not given 101% even if his contract was to be terminated. To me, a leap in the dark facilitated by some with an agenda to push (as intimated by Fissler and Newman).Iain wrote:I've backed Cohen over his last couple of interviews he's done. Re: Better news than Mermoz!
I've personally found that in my business experience hiring so called specialist consultants the result of whose advice is probably what you thought it would be, is a complete waste of time and money. The only exception is if they are Time & motion experts. I will be very surprised if anything useful comes of it.
Re: Better news than Mermoz!
The challenge with consultants is that they do and can propose some useful elements BUT the physical implementation of such is often difficult, time consuming and/or cost restrained.
Let's wait until we hear the output (if we do) and see what they suggest.

Wellm, Tigers' coaching appointments over the past few years suggest it is something they lack within the existing structure. (Or if it is, insufficient weight is given to the opinions of those that do.)Noddy555 wrote:I've personally found that in my business experience hiring so called specialist consultants the result of whose advice is probably what you thought it would be, is a complete waste of time and money. If outside "experts" select a choice of options, it may make it easier for the board to avoid sentimentality affecting their choices.
